Arsenal (A) - Post-Match Thread

It's such a strange feeling getting a win we didn't really deserve, it gives me a sense of guilt and foreboding that it will come back to bite us on the arse... and yet that scummy club across the city manage to scrape fluky, undeserved wins pretty much every other game and strut around like they were fully entitled to the points.

I suppose that's the difference between City and united supporters.

Don't like the "deserve" word in football but we did what we needed to win the game and City leading the table by a decent points margin is merited.

I went to Arsenal for the midweek game a few years ago during the Beast from the East cold spell we had. The empty seats were embarrassing. There could only have been 25000 there that night.

The crowd was very low that night. I would suggest your estimate of 25k was about right. We sold out our end though.

Possibly the coldest I have ever been at a football match. I also had the worst seat in our end: front row, very close to the corner flag.

What hasn’t been mentioned once or I haven’t heard it mentioned in all the nonsense about the “penalty“ that never was, is that Odegaard first touch was shit and he overran the ball, you then see he initiates contact with Ederson. If he had controlled the ball and got off a shot none of this bollox would have happened. Plus the Arse even took the lead after this and the only crying was when VAR intervened as there was a clear and obvious error, then that tit got himself sent off, which with hindsight was because he had gobbed off at Atwell and then straight away clotheslined Jesus, Atwell obvious a bit hot and bothered by then thought fuck you, off you go!
Arse then proceeded to fuck about, Ramsdale got away with clattering Dias from behind before City won the game.

Non, it showed our determination to win the game.
And hopefully a tactic in some game, that pass from de bruyne was possible because Rodri is tall to get the ball

Beside that, the players were tired otherwise it would have been another story despite Arsenal motivation

Read and divulged a lot of match reports and pundits views and it appears this was the Goons best performance of the season to date , and looking at some of our own post match comments one of our most lack lustre outings.
Which begs the question if the fourth best team in the league play out of thier skin and we are at best average , how good are we ?
Their isnt just a gulf i class between ourselves and the fourth place team but we already have given both the Dippers (game should have been over by half time) and Chelski a lesson this season on their own grounds.
Both also have to come to the Etihad and it doesnt bode well for Klippety and Tuchel , these really are halycon days we are smashing the Dippers best team for thirty years and beating all comers.
2022 could be the best year yet , belated Happy New Year to all Bluemooners , and as Ian Cheeseman always says , its great to be a blue :)

Deserve is one of the most misused words in football, along with “pragmatic” which pundits and journalists confuse with “hyper defensive and cynical”

Bizzare that someone, in their pre-match preparations, decides they should bring a roll of toilet paper along to the game.

Or did they nick it from the Emirates facilities, in which case they should be found and given a lifetime ban.
But tbf he did need it to clean up when Arsenal shit themselves and their beds.
