Arsenal (A) - Post-Match Thread

Both GK Ramsdale and Stuivenberg are whining because VAR did not refer Attwell to review the Ederson incident. Clearly they don't understand the role of VAR.
The ref', on field, saw no foul for either penalty appeals. VAR checks ALL these issues. If they think the ref' has got it seriously wrong they suggest he views the monitor.
VAR saw clearly Bernie was fouled and asked Attwell to check the monitor.
VAR so no clear evidence of a serious error for Odergaard so no instruction to review.

Nobody seems to have crticised Rodri for removing his shirt and blatantly provoking the Arsenal fans. That booking may result in a suspension towards the end of the season when we need him most. I hope that Pep fines him. Otherwise, no complaints other than for the paucity of substitutions.

Ill fitting username.

It's such a strange feeling getting a win we didn't really deserve, it gives me a sense of guilt and foreboding that it will come back to bite us on the arse... and yet that scummy club across the city manage to scrape fluky, undeserved wins pretty much every other game and strut around like they were fully entitled to the points.

I suppose that's the difference between City and united supporters.
Behave yourself Arsenal played well but imploded, we stayed in the game when we had too, and maybe should of scored first and a good shout for a penalty, which probably would of changed the game.

when the broadcaster puts you on at 12.30 away from home on New Years Day fuck them, they were given a weeks rest, where we played 3 games in 6 days.
No need to feel guilty, because no other team or fan will sympathise for us and truly love to see us loose.

That performance yesterday from a tired Manchester City team made me proud, they dug in when they had to and took advantage when the opposition wiltered and cracked under the pressure, Champions in the making.

Don't like the "deserve" word in football but we did what we needed to win the game and City leading the table by a decent points margin is merited.
Agree absolutely about deserving. Arsenal didn't lose because of the officiating, which got the three major decisions right, but because of their lack of discipline and their wingeing and whining is a return to the persecution complex that has been such a feature of the last 20 years at that club. Arsenal never get what they deserve because of the world wide conspiracy against them. Yesterday it was a club with "all the money in the world" who "have to cheat" and one poor gooner "had lost all faith in that Pep fella, whoever he is". Meanwhile City EARNED a win by maintaining discipline and playing football. It's for others to wonder about whether we deserved it and a lot of good it'll do them.

What hasn’t been mentioned once or I haven’t heard it mentioned in all the nonsense about the “penalty“ that never was, is that Odegaard first touch was shit and he overran the ball, you then see he initiates contact with Ederson. If he had controlled the ball and got off a shot none of this bollox would have happened. Plus the Arse even took the lead after this and the only crying was when VAR intervened as there was a clear and obvious error, then that tit got himself sent off, which with hindsight was because he had gobbed off at Atwell and then straight away clotheslined Jesus, Atwell obvious a bit hot and bothered by then thought fuck you, off you go!
Arse then proceeded to fuck about, Ramsdale got away with clattering Dias from behind before City won the game.
And as Odegaard approaches the ball he places his left peg almost 2 feet to the left of the ball thereby initiating the contact with Ederson. IMO He tried to con the referee, and it took some bottle (non-intentional pun) from the ref not to award a penalty.
