Arsenal Away - It's too Expensive!

A fucking disgrace.

Bring back standing and lower prices.

That is all.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/club-announces-changes-to-ticketing-approach" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archiv ... g-approach</a>
to anyone unaware of why we're paying more.

It's an admirable approach but you're cutting your nose off to spite your face if you think boycotting the game will in some way affect the decision-making on ticket prices. It won't. So long as we continue on our upward spiral, ticket prices will follow a similar route...

United and Arsenal are obscenely greedy clubs, it's no surprise these were two of the frontrunners in forming the Premier League so they could horde their gold. And now they sit atop that gold (well United's pile is invisible but they are 'wealthy' in the sense they can be in whatever debt they please but revenue will sort it) and tell everyone else daring to spend money how immoral and wrong they are and how they should not be allowed to eat at the same table as the aristocracy (aka them).

The sad thing is that surely ticket prices are only going to go higher?
£60 just for a ticket is ridiculous. For me, if I was to travel to the game, food and have a few drinks; would cost me about £200.
Although I would love to go, I just simply cannot afford to.

It's simple, if you don't go to the game then they won't charge these prices in the future.

Not so simple... Let's say every "hardcore" blue boycotted this Arsenal game now. none of us bought tickets. campaigns all over the net, everywhere....

I can assure you our end will still be full. Maybe not so with the same crowd who will be at Wigan away but with the "I-crowd" lot who take pleasure in playing on their IMacs, Taking pics on their Iphones, and playing Farmville on their ITabs.

This is why the prices will remain at this level and probably continue to rise, as some Joe out there wants to "be part of it" and will happily get rinsed by these greedy bastards who stole the beautiful game.
However City, the club, could take the stand for us, they could take all the tickets, tell us they haven't, take the financial hit, and then announce why the away end will be completely empty an hour before the game, with "we're taking a stand against these ridiculous prices".

They won't, because they're in on the same game.
in a nutshell.

Pricks. They always sell themselves as God's gift to honest football. They're just common corporate vampires, robbing the middle income folks to pay Wenger 9m euro per season. In the middle of a global recession no less, shameful.

At present, Arsenal's matchday income is one of the highest in Europe but it accounts for more than 40% of their total revenue - an unusually high percentage for a leading club.

The (new) Emirates deal will lower that figure but, when asked if it would result in lower ticket prices, Ivan Gazidis replied: "I didn't say they would come down.

"I think we've been very responsible on ticket pricing over time. Since we moved to the new stadium we've had two increases in season ticket prices and both of those have been inflationary.

"We've tried very hard to balance the demand that we spend more money in the market with also trying to take a long-term responsible attitude towards our fanbase.

"Despite the fact that we've got long waiting lists in the stadium, we haven't pushed ticket prices forward, we've tried to hold them to a responsible level.
"The expansion of our revenue base will help us in managing that relationship."

I go to every match but would certainly boycott it for the greater good.If the supporters clubs can agree to boycott the match they may have enough weight to get the club to tell arsenal they won't be taking any tickets.
I'm sure it would be good PR for the club and easy to live screen the match at city square will bring in plenty of revenue to compensate the club

If they ever did bring back standing do you really think they would lower prices!!!!!!
It will just be more places for the same money.
Or maybe I am just being a little cynical.
