I think the use of the term plastics is a bit harsh.
Me and the rest of my family are hanging about on 5,500 points and it can be really difficult to push it up.
I haven't had a look in with Arsenal away the last few years, but I have bought 4 tickets this morning, so technically I am taking someones place who may normally go. I'm far from a 'plastic' though. I go to as many aways as I can, and have been to 3 out of our 6 champions league aways, so when these games come around to boost your points I think I have to bite the bullet with the price and take it. It will pay off in the long run if it means I qualify for United away.
I used to go to Anfield regularly, and then the last couple of seasons (not this yr) it sold out really high, too high for me- I don't understand things like that.
But I think to call people taking your seats 'plastics' is a bit harsh.
they wont take my seat cos i'm going but i and others will tail off because of prices.
it wont be a question of points soon, it'll all be down to money. i'm not a skint lad i just will refuse to buy if this attack on thw working man continues.
to answer your point on 5000 points, there will be loads there with not a point to their name. fact.
I never said you weren't going, the use of 'your' was just a general point anyway.
Well if there are people with no points going then fine, it is sad that supporters are being priced out, but if it goes down to their points level (i.e none) and they decide they want to get off the mark then you can't knock them.
What becomes a problem is when people with no points get offered tickets before people with a number of points who would definitely go, which is what I am sure is happening at the moment, as there is no explanation as to why I suddenly stopped qualifying games I always qualified for.
I'm not saying your a 'skint lad' but I bet you won't stop going, as they know 60-70% of football fans will still pay to go to watch their team. Arsenal being one major rip off a season isn't going to stop it happening. The way our point system works, means people like me who just miss out know that an extra couple of 100 points will get them to bigger aways, and therefore will bite the bullet with the price and go.....and the cycle continues....
The only way is a boycott, but it won't happen until the prices become ludicrous, and as others have said, whilst £60 is hugely over priced, it's London, and it's yet to be ludicrous. We will be looking at £85+ before a boycott even gets genuinely put in motion, I think.
