Personally, I think we should cut out the middleman and poach all Arsenal's best players directly from Southampton. At least they'd probably appreciate the money.

lol, you could do, but first you'd have to develop a track record of developing starlets into big players. So far your score on that level is 0 over the last 45 years unless you want to count Joey Barton and SWP.

Before the Premiership became a moneypot thats how clubs built successful sides. Our league winning sides in 89 and 91 contained 8 youth products (Adams,Davis,Thomas,Rocastle,Merson,Hayes,Quinn,O'Leary). Even United's dynasty was based on good youth development, but keep convincing yourselves football was dominated by an evil cartel before knights in shining armour like Abramovich and Mansour rescued it.
your lack of knowledge is astounding
the last time we won the league, which is within your outlandish 45 year period we had five youth team players who were regulars
now either stop the wumming or your stay will be terminated

I can't help but notice you avoid any posts that mention the £50m investment that Tony Adams was so happy about.

That's funny since Wenger was quite persistent in his tapping up for SWP (who eventually went to Chelsea for £21million) and Micah Richards (current value approaching £20million). Sturridge is another one who is currently one of the better young English players.

I think the fact that they're struggling with all their collective hearts to make it into the Champions League, tells us everything we need to know.

We've lost the title, but Arsenal have lost everything.

The results?

Their league has the highest average gates in Europe. Ticket prices are affordable. They have terraces filled with the type of young fans we have priced out. Their clubs live within their means and are not dragged down by excessive debt. The atmosphere still resembles a football atmosphere. Their clubs produce more talent than ours. Certain clubs (Bayern) are more successful than others, but its a far more open and interesting league than ours.

and a lack of success in Europe. A country with eighty million people has six European Cup/Champions League wins with Bayern having four of those wins. This versus three countries of sixty million people with the following:

Spain, 13
Italy, 12
England, 11

Also, the Netherlands, a country of seventeen million people have six as well and Portugal with ten million people have four.

True, but their game is healthier than the one in Spain,Italy or England and they care about stuff we all seem to have forgotten about like the future of the game, welfare of the fans and healthy clubs. Historically they also have better national sides.

I also reckon their clubs will become more dominant once FFP kicks in. The Germans play it by the book. You also can't see Spanish clubs getting the type of government funding they have previously relied on now the Germans basically control their economy.

10 of the 13 Spanish wins were by Real Madrid and the bulk of those were under the virtual stewardship of General Franco. Nice, I bet they are dead proud of that.

If you bothered to look into our history you'd probably find we've done better than two players.
Call it 'developing', it's poaching to a Southampton fan, if you think that they see their place solely as servicing your next generation then your arrogant beyond belief and your notoriously fickle fellow "gooners" were calling Walcott right up to the point he turned round the Spurs game. Not to mention calling for Wenger's head in your appalling early season form. Fucking Arsenal fans, the worst in London and by fuck you've got some competition.

The Bayern Munich model would be the one I'd like to see at City and that's the one we appear to be following. They make the bulk of their money through the commercial side of things whilst ticket prices are kept relatively affordable. But, they are the only German side which is a force in Europe and the reason for that is the money honey. This gobbledygook about building up through the ranks etc. is just nonsense. Even teams with players who come through the ranks must spend big wages to keep them - and that has nothing to do with City. Blame us all you want but if you add up your wages over the era of the Premier League I don't think you'll be too surprised to find out that you're way ahead of us.

City's fault? Fack off, you're having a giraffe mate.

Look at the average wage spike after the formation of the Premier League... and who was one of the men who forced through the creation of the Premier League? Arsenal's David Dein.
