Err, not quite. If we're talking about benefactors, you were a mid-table fairly skint club in the mid 1990's until Danny Fiszman pumped in £50m to fund player purchases. Your recent fortunes started then and that's what allowed you to get 3 PL titles. £50m in 1994 is about the same as £400m now so you have no moral high ground I'm afraid. Fiszman did for you EXACTLY what the Sheikh is doing for us.

Even their own legend Tony Adams recently admitted the club would be nowhere today without Fiszman's investment

Would that be the same mid table mid 90s Arsenal who won the league in 89 and 91, two domestic cups in 93 and a European trophy in 94 with a largely home grown team? Your comparison really doesn't add up does it.

Are Arsenal in danger of adopting the Liverpool History Syndrome? Obviously they have a right to be challenging for the title after 15 years of slugging it out for it. I mean, the standard of their play has fuck all to do with it. The table does indeed lie a lot. They didn't get the rub of the green on far too many occasions this year. Nothing to do with the fact that, although they have good books, they've bought shite. Nowt to do with that. At all.

The emergence of City and Chelski hasn't really hurt United or Arsenal. United still win stuff and we are still up there. What the Arab and the Russian did kill is any remaining aspirations the rest of the clubs in the league had. They have also caused wage inflation which has been fed down into ticket prices at the expense of all football fans.

But you said this at the start of the thread ?

The two main reasons we haven't won anything in that time are Roman Abramovich and Sheikh Mansour. Good luck to you and Chelski, but looking down your nose at a self sufficient club says a lot about you.

How do my two statements contradict one another? Had it not been for Abramovich and Mansour we'd probably have a few more pots in the cabinet. I think everyone would agree with that.

We haven't really been hurt though because we've managed to hang on in the top 4. That means we've been able to generate the funds to keep the club competitive in the long term.

Not sure how thats difficult to understand.

Great find allot of fans like to think they have the moral high ground cause of money its pathetic. When they try and seek credit as well for not winning anything but for not spending anything like they want a medal or something (lol)
