Arsenal (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Do you think the starting XI at The Emirates will be much different to tonight?
If you mean Arsenal team
No
It be more how they ended the game + Party but they never really caused us many problems.
They are not great when teams are solid at the back and they have to try and to the forward work

I think Pep will go like tonight, stay solid and we will get our moments

That was just a shocker performance all around. A very similar line up smashed Chelsea 4 0 just a couple days earlier.
Chelsea are a shambles at the minute, the players who are.knocking on the door did fuck all to prove they should start a game

Fair result. But it will have no bearing on the league meetings as some would suggest.

All that it means, is we are out of the FA Cup, and you are through.
You keep trying to convince yourself. Remember last season when top 4 was guaranteed and you bottled it? Remember booing Wenger, booing Xhaka, booing Arteta? We’re coming to get you, let’s see how your nerve holds

I hope Guardiola remembers this in a fortnight’s time.
Laporte is excellent at diagonals , we are missing the outlet from in our own half that bypasses it from the Rodri outball from midfield, Laporte and Diaz is an excellent CB pairing , Berni just has to play - swansong season or not , Alvarez just takes the heat off Haaland , he frees so much space in the pocket behind the out and out striker , we stick with those and we will reel Arsehole FC in.

We should be worried !

We had , no Bernardo , Walker , Ederson , Foden starting bubblehead

cockney clowns, only ones need to be worried is those dopes, talking absolute nonsense whilst looking like they’ve just ran outta of second hand shop with the stock n slung it on themselves. canno wait for us to lift our 5th title in a 6 stretch it’ll be the sweetest to shut these self entitled southern softies up, do me swede in the bores.

Tarquins getting giddy after a day on the beer, absolute silence after we took the lead.
They forget we are the pro's in this situation. Its a practice for us. We'll out sing them with ease when we beat them in the league in 19 days time.

Come on CITY!
Right underneath them tonight and they were loud until we scored. Absolute silence after that!

Exactly. Same as any away fans would have been with nearly 8k on a Friday night with a day on the piss.

We'd have been loud from the first minute to the last win or lose with 7800 fans on a Friday night.

Our away fans are the best in the country. Arsenal dont come close.

5 things I'm taking away from tonight.
1. Long balls to Haaland work.
So nearly led to a goal, Rob Holding couldn't cope all night, had tons of help from Paul (Fucking) Tierney and still ended up booked and taken off at half time. This has to be part of our game plan. Haaland seemed to enjoy the battle.

2. Ake is Ace.
Great finish, kept a massively in-form Saka completely anonymous. I like Cancelo for his attacking strength but Ake is the best defensive left back we have by a country mile.

3. Gundogan + De Bruyne + Rodri = Too Slow.
I hate to say it cos I love Gundo, but in difficult games we need pace in midfield and you ain't dropping Rodders or Kev.

4. We need to keep Bernardo Silva.
Please ... whatever it takes ... get him an "ILovePortugal" T-Shirt ... buy his Mrs a dildo the size of Belgium to keep her happy ... do anything to get him to sign a new deal. If the effort and ability that Bernardo put in tonight is him on wind-down then God Help the opposition if he's ever motivated. I love this guy and I think we'll only realise how good he is when we don't have him anymore.

5. Arsenal are the real deal but we can still do this!
That was a fucking hard game. Space was at a premium and it was a constant struggle to get through their press. They have skill and strength and that wasn't even their first eleven. Having said that, their main threat is Saka and he was in Ake's back pocket throughout. In fact Ake got so bored he had to score a goal to Iiven himself up. They also visibly tired on 70 minutes and even with subs + chasing-the-game they were unable to get the ball off us by the end. We will need to be 90-100% perfect to win both league games against them but Pep will have learnt loads from tonight and we definitely gained a psychological advantage. As well as a step closer to another FA Cup :)

Note to Self : Don't start writing lists at 1:30am

If we are talking “just has to play”category, mom Ake, having Saka in his pocket all match, just has to be top of the list.
