Arsenal (H) | PL | Post-match Thread

All these gooners going on about holding what they had, and lauding the falling about on the floor every minute.

When we were 1 nil up in the champions league Final you didn't see our players tinewasting, and feigning injury.

The only time I've seen us time waste is at Old Trafford when we kicked it off the shins of every United player in the corner. Or was that called taking the piss?

Fuck off Arsenal. You know that the result on Sunday feels like a loss and to us it feels like a win.

Karma served up at it's finest!!

Arsenal had taken / stolen / been gifted by Oliver (delete as applicable) the lead against the current club world champions and were down to ten men.
The packed defence made perfect sense in the context of the game and nobody should be complaining. - We see enough games when we're one goal ahead and take the ball to the corner rather than try to score another, and that's the best team in the world with eleven men.
The problem isn't parking the bus. The problem is the constant disruption to the game by feigning injury and general time-wasting. This has been going on for several years at all levels but Arsenal are culprits at the highest level and referees must be aware they are being taken for fools.
There's a reluctance to delay treatment in case the injury is serious, but Arsenal take the piss and PiGMOL need to act.
Ha, ha: PiGMOL acting against arsenal? The joke thread is elsewhere.
I used the word mindset because I think that covers all aspects. Conte brought his Chelsea to Manchester in 2018 and was ridiculed for showing no attacking intent, yet Arsenal are praised for that second-half performance and their antics as if it were somehow Rorke’s Drift incarnate. If the roles had been reversed, I cannot imagine Guardiola would have betrayed his principles because he knows that it would have been an acceptance of inferiority.

Sky said a few times after Stones' goal that its all kicking off between the benches now, but I've yet to see any footage of it.

They’re confusing genuine tactics with shithousery or the ‘dark arts’ as the likes of Keown cosily refer to what amounts to cheating. Taking the ball into the corners. Passing it around the back 4 etc can be classed as time wasting or seeing the game out, and is perfectly legitimate. What Arsenal do though is ugly, a fucking shit stain on the beautiful game. Feigning injury, kicking the ball away preventing restarts, their keeper catching the ball then going to ground for 5-10 seconds then taking an age to actually take the kick. All shithouse tactics that are not only encouraged at Arsenal, it looks to me like they are practised and coached. Even the sub was see telling the keeper to down with cramp - most likely a message from the bench.
I didn’t have an issue with them defending the way they did, they thought the best option was keep us out and hold on to the lead and that’s fair enough. It’s the shithouse gameplan that is hated and rightly so, they’ve been doing for a while now as well. You’re a good side, just play the game Tarquin. Or don’t you have the balls to come and play us without all the shit?
