You have been consistent of your dislike for Pellegrini's tactical approach I will give you that and to a large extent, you and a few others have been proven to be correct although i still think the players have yet again let a lot of people down, just as they did with Mancini once the end for him was becoming clear.

The fans verdict was obvious and as you say I think he will have probably been surprised and hurt with the reaction but you can't say its wrong. If the supporters of the club aren't happy then the club must have gone backwards. I am not sure whether the public face of Pellegrini represented the real Pellegrini or a manager who struggled to express himself in English, but he looked out of his depth .Rotten was just an analogy, but I take your point and would say degradation would be a more accurate analogy.
I watched the after match shindig again last night and I truly felt/feel sorry for Manuel. In that moment I think it suddenly dawned on him that the fans saw his tenure completely different to how he did and proved this by mostly declining the invitation to say a final farewell to him. He's a good man and deserved better but he bought yesterday on himself as that match perfectly summarised the criticisms which have been levelled against him over the last 3 wasted years.

What happened to him once he rocked up to the Etihad, fuck knows but he certainly didn't play this brand of reckless football whilst he was in Spain that's for sure.
What he said prior to our CL semi against Real perfectly sums up how tactically stunted he was at City 'Everyone talks about tactics, but big games are won by special players not tactics'. Really Manuel?

I mean look at DeBruyne. How much is he worth as a winger in the 442 type system City play ? Imagine Pellegrini stayed & lets say we signed Lewendowski to play next to Aguero.
How popular would DeBruyne be, after 30 odd games on the wing ? How would his form be ? Like Silva's perhaps ? Or Nasri ?
If Yaya Toure was a deep playmaker in a 5 man midfield, would he be shit & we're glad to get rid of him, or would he be reinvented & brilliant ?
Would Mangala be shit if Simeone had been coaching him to play in Atletico's back 4 ? Would he be letting people go at corners ?
Could Delph have stepped up like Fernando is doing if he was playing with the Ferns regularly in a 3 rather than on the wing ?
Imo it's very difficult for the players, playing under this man & we are seeing most of them at their worst, rather than at their best.
Most, if not all of them, are imo either good, very good, excellent or fantastic. Under Pellegrini, most are average or below, with one or two outstanding moments here & there. Some have become write offs.
I wish all could have had a 'demo' under a proper manager. It may be that we wi sack a few who might have been pretty good for us.
I don't know what made me more depressed, the players playing much better and still lost or that we fell to the same old mistakes of losing control in midfield and individual errors again.
Can only pray that West Ham cared about the EL spot enough to do a job against the rags and we gave an even more improved performance at Swansea.
But still, thank you Pellegrini. In spite of his obvious limitations, I think most of the time he did try his best. For that he would have my good wishes, even though he won't be missed. Just as I wouldn't miss Mancini either, despite him taking us to the first PL title in 40 something years.

You must have been very insightful to identify traces of weakness in Pellegrini's opening season. At the start of this season it looked like the old City was back and that injuries knocked us off course, but that is when a manager is tested and you see the commitment of the squad to what he is trying to do.
Other groups of players like Leicesters and Spurs are committed and enthusiastic so i don't think there is any issue of modern day footballers not caring its just a question of whether a manager has credible ideas which players can buy into. I know I have gone on and on about it but playing Toure must have baffled the players in the dressing room and really turned them off. "WTF are you doing" would be my thought. "How are we supposed to compete and win the midfield battles etc"
Anyway we are in good hands. And will sharpen the appetite of fans and players

That's bollocks. I was firmly in Mancini camp and very angry that he was replaced like he was. I said at the time that the only sensible reason to replace him was if a stellar coach was coming in.
I warmed to Manuel and that first season was the best I have EVER seen. I'm excited that Pep is replacing Manuel, but I'm really embarrassed by the way he was treated yesterday.

Didn't Manuel sign a three year deal? If so, how has he been sacked? Surely the club did what they were perfectly entitled to and did not extend or renew his contract.... There's a huge difference
