Arsenal - Post match thread

Incidentally I like about 15,000 others stayed for a while initially amused by the Pro and Anti Winger factions kicking off against each other in the away end but left when it was clear we were going to have to wait 15 minutes to cheer on our 'heros'. Another production shambles to add to the Long list from this season.

The club should not be surprised that most fans had left the stadium.
They had it coming.
The management for sticking with Their man when failure was there for all to see.

The team manager who stubbornly refused to change his outdated tactics whilst clearly weakening our team in the Premier league.

And the number of players who have been dog shit and then add those that have downed tools.

Anyone surprised at the mass walkout are deluded, that or haven't endured first hand the season we have.

Its been 2 season of bad management Pellegrini should of been shown the door 18 months ago, set us back years.

Which is why those above need to take a long hard look at themselves and those they employ to assist them to make the decisions they end up making and rise or fall by.

Sacking a manager who wins a title in his first year may seem harsh and unpopular amongst some but they are employed to make those harsh decisions and having made the decision to give him a second year proceeded to spend money on players that he couldn't get the best of.

In some cases they just were not good enough full stop but that doesn't give MP a leave pass into year three and a one year option extension for a reward for year one and a bigger pay out when it was obvious that he would only get at best his initial three year term.

At worst he should have been replaced after year two by one of the many motivational managers that would step in for one season ensure at top three finish at worst and at least have the nous to groom younger players at the same time for the future.

Even a guy like Guus would have got more out of our squad this year and employed a game plan that ensured that we were harder to score against and given the likes of Mangala and Oti more confidence to adapt to the premier league.

MP is not a smart man when it comes to football management that is plain to see and as they he is too old to stubborn , too tactically unaware to change.

He had a good squad by no means a great one but he made it much poorer than it should be.

All those that remain that have regressed under MP , not one is better than when they arrived will have to have their skill base restored and hopefully for the first time in a long time we have a game plan that is coherent , easily understood and works.

Most if not all knew we were on the slide for a long time and MP had nothing in his arsenal himself or his support staff to change things for the better.

The fans told him yesterday what they thought of his tenure and I hope Kaldoon and above saw it for what it was.
What summed up Manuel for me is when he said 'Everyone talks about tactics, but Big matches aren't decided by tactics, they're decided by special moments from special players'.

My stomach nearly fell out of my arse when I heard him say that. I still can't bring much blame on those above him because they provided him with the tools and the platform to succeed and as with any manager you play the hand you're dealt to the best of your ability. Manuel has failed in this respect where it most matters, the Premier League. 1st, 2nd and now anything up to 5th with a maximum of TWENTY THREE POINTS LESS than he attained with his first season which was with Mancini's squad.

Again, we thanks you Manuel Pellegrini. Our humiliation at your hands is almost complete.

Having read this entire thread, have to say I'm embarrassed to be considered "a fan" with half of you. Spoiled fucking brats who seem to think they are owed something the team was unable to bring them. Manchester City is not a player, a manager, a stadium or even a rich oil sheikh owner, it is something that is INSIDE YOU...unless you are a recently minted plastic, who has only known the up and up, and who thinks we are somehow entitled to win silverware every year. There are three pots to go around, four/five if you include the CL/EL trophies, and in the last few years we have won them all. What have our closest rivals done? United? One Prem. Chelsea? Top 10 finish this year as defending champions, which is the worst EVER defence of the title. Arsenal? Party when they get 4th and finally won a pot. Liverpool? Gaga over Klopp, because he might win the EL, which is the only way they are getting back to the CL for the past umpteen years.

Sadly, Mancunians seem to always revert to type when they don't get their own way. Winning? Life is good, the Sheikh's millions are giving us what we want, and the team are world beaters. Losing? Fuck the world, what is the Khaldoon-Txiki-Ferran triumvirate doing, and the players are "a bunch of lazy mercenaries who make more in a week than I do in a couple of years!"

Fucking joke! Either you are a REAL supporter, who does their best to go to games, supports the team to the hilt, accepts that not every game is going to light up your world, and even accepts that occasionally someone is going to beat you OR you are a whiny woman plastic fan (who may have only latched on to City for the recent glory) who cannot put up with an off season, where we only won one trophy, went further in the top European competition than ever before, but MIGHT have come up short for the CL, even though we are ALREADY ASSURED OF EUROPEAN FOOTBALL NEXT SEASON! Cry me a river, you fucking plastics! You don't deserve the world class players who have been wearing sky blue recently!

Been watching City for the best part of 50 years and, apart from a period in the late 60's and early 70's, this is the golden age of Manchester City's footballing history. In fact, it is multiple times better, but I suppose I'm just a bit nostalgic for the local lads who made up that team, as that was when we became the club I adore.

If you are a City fan, you sing and support the team through thick and thin, and, at a minimum, you stay until the end on the last game of the season and clap off the players for doing the best they could for you...which has been pretty damn good for quite a few years now!

This thread is a joke, but it perfectly illustrates everything wrong with the City fan base, and why the Etihad rarely feels like the fortress it should. I'm not just some happy clapper who blindly supports dross, and I've done my share of moaning at a player or two depending upon the game and perceived effort, but I have NEVER booed a player in sky blue, I rise to clap them off the field regardless of the quality of their performance, and I only wish I had been watching this quality of football for the previous five decades.

Roll on next season...

Brilliant- that should keep the super fans happy.
To be fair it's a good post - but it's just emotive over emotional drum thumping.
Why did all but 3000 leave - are they all not proper fans like you?
As blues we've tolerated and put up with lots of lows over the seasons, what differentiates this is the gross incompetence and inability to rectify glaring repetitive mistakes game in game out.
Putting up with and being indifferent to ultimately not being good enough is one thing, but it's incredibly difficult to be as magnanimous to incompetence.
Nobody booed or insulted him - they just passed judgment with their feet, which they are perfectly entitled to do.

As usual Pellegrini lost us the game, everyone could see that at 2-1 we were starting to get overrun in midfield and we needed to sacrifice a striker (iheanacho- who struggled to get into the game) and bring on an extra midfielder or Arsenal were going to score. then as usual we conceded because we got overrun in midfield and then we panicked and had to chase a goal. how many times have we not made changes and been able to manage games through - we were the better team against Arsenal - and played quite well but game management lost us the lead. we dont deserve top four - but lets hope west ham do us a favour.. becasue then we can afford to loose against swansea last game of the season - which would be typical... roll on next season....
