Wow, this thread has taken a it of a turn since the game last week.

If you check the thread before the game, it was decent good natured banter and debate, punctured constantly by gooner2's over enthusiastic posts shall we say, that both yourselves and Arsenal fans on here tried to curb.

Now since its turned a bit nasty. Did yous not win the game? If this is what it's like after. A 6-3 win, I'd hate to see yous after a 6-3 defeat!

arsenal fans refusing to admit they were beaten fair and square mostly.

Look at your fellow gooner if you want to find whose fault that is. Having a sarky dig at our commercial deals and, by insinuation, the morals of said deals is not going to endear City fans to your lot, is it. As for gooner2; well; he's just a delusional idiot. You're not too bad, for an Arsenal fan. Pity the same can't be said of some of your compatriots. Add to that the whinging and bleating about the ref last week by a large portion of your fans, instead of simply admitting that the best team won.

I've not read through it all mate, so don't know what's happened.

If that's the case, they are mental, because it was 6-3 going on 10-5!

yeah the difference being that the company that is giving us all that money for sponsorship (puma) doesn't just happen to be owned by stan kroenke's brother! (or bother in law, either way its a close family relation which clearly makes the whole deal very suspicious).

also, without wanting to get into a argument about which club is bigger, its completely understandable for a brand the size of arsenal getting this kind of sponsorship deal, whereas as city 2 years ago (i think it was?) getting a deal like that was totally out of proportion for a club of city's size back then.

come on, you'd have to be really blue tinted to not see the obvious possibility of a very simple scam - "here you go brother, take this £200m and use it to sponsor our club with your etihad company, it will count as a revenue stream and there's absolutely no way for anyone to prove otherwise"

I love that the majority of Arsenal fans think we were the equivalent of Macclesfield Town (no offence to Macc) before Sheikh Mansour came along.

no arsenal supporters i know think that you were some tiny club before your takeover.

but neither were you anywhere near big enough to bag one of the biggest (if not the biggest) sponsorship deal in the premier league and Europe were you? thats why there was so much suspicion around the sponsorship, once it turned out the sponsor was directly related to the city owner.

like i said in previous post, theres no way even any city fan can deny the obvious with that one...

It could be argued that judging the size of other deals now happening around the league that the contract we signed with Etihad is going to pale in comparison to what we should be receiving at contracts end.

It was prospecting on business. Etihad tied up the deal. The whole reason the club was bought was to be a beacon to the rest of the world that the Abu Dhabi group were here as a mainstay in the western eye. They want to market their products exclusively through our club whilst building a successful footballing enterprise.

Imagine a scenario where the investment pans out in the footballing sense. Would it be appropriate for Etihad to have to outbid another sponsorship offer?

Cheers, I think lol. I must admit, I'm a bit of a plastic Arsenal fan. I'm not from London, not even England, I'm from Scotland and my first team is Rangers, (sorry for the damage of your city 2008) My uncle was an Arsenal fan and took me down to a couple of games when I was young so ive followed them ever since, try, and get down to a couple of games a season but the cost of tickets and having kids of my own now has curbed this somewhat.

However, any problems at Arsenal pales into insignificance the problems Rangers are facing, so perhaps I look at things in a slightly different way.

As for your last statement, there's no doubt the best team won last week. It's strange because I was happier with the way Arsenal played last week losing 6-3, than I was with the performance at Old Trafford losing 1-0, (well apart from the defending anyway). I just hope. We don't bend over like we usually do to a Mourinho team on Monday!
