Laughably some Arsenal fans think they'll beat Napoli at their place.

Thing is, are Napoli still that good? Haven't they been stripped of their 3 best players. I know it's still an intimidating place to go - esp for fans - but are they still as dangerous as they were on the pitch??
Exactly the 3 players that raped us to death have moved on now

Hamsik is still there. They lost Lavezzi and Cavani, but they buy Higuain.

Arsenal forums will combust by the end of the day..
Does anybody on here go on any Arsenal forums? I'd be interested to know what they think of their current situation.

I hear bits and pieces, but on general forums and other places its those that shout loudest that get heard, and usually that means the easily angered brigade. Obviously club forums can be the same, but generally they give a better perspective.

it's the only position they didn't need straightening but it still makes them better.

-Sagna-Coscielny-Martesacker-Gibbs
-----Arteta------Wilshere----
--Walcott---Ozil----Cazorla--
-----------Giroud------

Now that some world class players seem to be available from Madrid, one has to wonder why Spurs didn't land any of them considering Levy was squeezing their balls all summer.

Arsenal can offer champions league football spurs couldn't. Arsenal may not usually spend much on fees they can also afford top wages. Them and united done it for many years.

Some arsenal fan told me yesterday ozil would cost 12m pounds

If, as seems likely, this Ozil signing comes off then it's a fantastic signing for Arsenal, he's a real top quality footballer. He's expensive though, Silva cost £25m for example.

I still don't think just this one signing means Arsenal will finish 4th this season, they still have defensive weaknesses, and a strikeforce of Giroud, Podolski and whoever this Sanogo bloke is simply isn't strong enough.

I do have to feel for you because it's a vicious cycle. Chelsea was in the same situation just before Roman bought us (except we weren't so good with our money) but the frustration is a distant memory now. Well, we didn't create the CL cartel. You can thank United, Liverpool and of course, Arsenal for that glass ceiling.

I think £42.5 million is reasonable considering the state of the market right now. Ozil is still only 24 and is more proven than David Silva was at the time. Valencia also needed to cover their debt, much like Malaga with Cazorla.

Giroud is a perfectly good starting striker and I'm expecting him to score 20 league goals this year. He needs backup and Ba would be much better competition for him than Sanogo who should be no where near the first team right now.

Due to all of the injuries I think our squad is too weak for a title challenge but our starting 11 is very good.

Given Herrera seems to be costing United £30m you're probably right that, comparably, £42.5m isn't unreasonable. However £30m for Herrera is ridiculous so......!

Ozil will be an excellent player for you.

20 goals from Giroud is possible, but you'd be wanting them to be more concentrated in the league than last season, where he only managed to sneak into double figures (11).

I have to agree that if you can keep your strting 11 fit you'll give most sides a game, but scratch the surface and the alternatives aren't too stellar. Still think you need someone to dominate physically in the middle of the pitch, you're very small as a team overall.

I'm not complaining too much it's just the way it is but we have taken gambles before with the likes of modric, berbs, Lloris etc. People thought they were short of quality for the big boys but ended up quality. We've taken gambles on lamela and eriksen who could possibly be star men. We were never going to get any Madrid player as part of the deal, we were fortunate enough to get vdv a couple of years back
