We've pretty much gifted them the FA Cup, so the least they can do is roll over at the emirates when we play them

Should be a good game and I'm hoping Pellegrini sticks with DiMichelis in defence or better, midfield ;^)

That final ruined birmingham forever,they lost every league game after that and got relegated. I have been gleefully watching their downfall since that day.

maybe, but theres a lot more to it then that.

i hate birmingham for 2 reasons, firstly it was a birmingham player that smashed eduardo's ankle in half thereby derailing our season (we were clear at the top at that point with the one of the most in form strikers in the league possibly europe) and secondly the ridiculous luck that resulted in that goal in the final which again derailed the rest of our season and probably helped lead to the departure of 2 of our best players that summer (nasri and fabregas).

i honestly think that had we won either the league in 07/08 or the cup in 2011, then nasri and fabregas probably wouldn't have left. i think the way the season ended in 2011 and the collapse following the cup loss was the last straw for both those players. don't forget that in 2011 we were also in with a shout of the league as well. everything went tits up after the cup final though.

i hope not and don't think we will. this is a totally different team to the one we had in 2011, and we just didn't turn up that day. of course that can happen again, but generally we've been excellent this season in dispatching the smaller lesser teams.

with good reason, i couldn't for the life of me envisage us beating you in either the semi or final. especially with the amount of injuries we have.

with you getting knocked out, its practically handed us the cup (barring any massive shocks).

the fact that the league is slipping away (i don't think we'll collapse like many have been predicting all season). but i can't see us winning it now. if we finish 2nd or 3rd and win fa cup it will have been a great season. the biggest thing though will be that first trophy and getting the monkey off our back. its so tiring hearing the same old '8 years since' and '9 years since' etc etc.

Hardly the same situation. Arsenal had three English players that would have started today out injured. It does not matter to everyone, but both Arsenal and Chelsea have previously been criticised for the not starting enough English players.

Hardly the same situation. Arsenal had three English players that would have started today out injured. It does not matter to everyone, but both Arsenal and Chelsea have previously been criticised for the not starting enough English players.

as crystal said, ramsey/walcott/wilshere/ox/gibbs. thats a definite 4 and possibly 5 british players that could have started tonight had they been fit. we also had jenkison on the bench.

the reason they didn't play is not cos they arent good enough or becuase wenger didn't choose them, but simply because they were injured. totally different situation to what your trying to suggest.
