Not sure how 4 points behind with 6 points to play for puts Everton out
Probability. Arsenal have WBA (h) and Norwich (a) to close out the 4th spot with as close to a fully fit squad that they'll get and have hit form again. Everton have to play us and are semi-crippled with injuries and out of form.

I know we can all slag off Arsenal but yet again they make the champions league that's some going by Wenger. Injuries to Walcott and Ramsey hurt them big time this season. I know its mad but if they buy 3 players of a high standard they will be competing next year. They win FA Cup this season might see them getting back to winning ways more regular. A top class forward a defender and midfielder short of title contenders for me.

Yep, for Everton to make the top 4 they need to win both of their remaining matches, and then hope Arsenal don't win either of their remaining matches. It's possible, but it's a huge long shot. You'd have to think that, whilst Everton won't admit it, their players and manager have accepted their fate at this stage. You'd suspect this has to have some for of impact on their performance levels on Saturday. Combine that with the injuries they're currently suffering and things are certainly going City's way. It doesn't guarantee us anything on Saturday, but every little benefit is appreciated.

Wasn't everything going Liverpool's way against Chelsea!

Apart from Chelsea being a better and more experienced team with a manager whose tactical approach was the perfect foil for their managers naïve overrated gung-ho approach, their arrogance believing they had already won the title just because the finish line was in sight and the drive and motivation their sickly, nauseous media love-in has given pretty much every other team in the country you mean?

If Ramsey had stayed fit, I think they would have won the League

Their decline coincides with Ramsey's injury.

Just as key to Arsenal as RVP was to Utd, and Aguero is to City, Suarez to Liverpool etc

Jose could have got something out of that game with a team with half of Chelsea's quality

Can't agree there mate, if they had the squad strength/mentality they might win the league, but we've been missing Aguero as well as Silva for large chunks of the season.

Exactly. Rodgers screwed up by not accepting how Chelsea would play and not respecting their game plan. Atletico couldn't break Chelsea down, Liverpool are not better than Atletico. We had to play the way we did against Chelsea through injuries and we were very close to scoring early on. Rodgers just stuck with his only gameplan and it backfired. He then made himself look like an idiot with his post match comments that were out of sheer desperation. Schurrle's response today was very well put. Looking at things logically you would have said it was going to be difficult for Liverpool to win the league. They had won 11 in a row and yet were only in the position whereby they had to win 3 more. That would have been an incredible achievement, one that you would never have expected. The fact they lost one is to me no surprise. I think they will drop more points before the end of the season too. Palace are another side that will expose Liverpool's gameplan. Whilst we look at little positives to help us try and see where we may win the game on Saturday, the players will have no such thoughts. They will know it is a tough game and they will look to prepare in the best way and win the game. We play before Liverpool and we can put the pressure on them.

If league worked on probability we would be lifting the title back in March
