There are a lot of Arsenalfans saying they don't care finishing 2nd or 3rd. Can understand that with the attitude being 'just top 4 will do' for over a decade.
As for Wenger whining again about Swansea playing too defensively, maybe he should replay our game vs Arsenal in January.
There is always something about these former so-called top 4 that is so annoying ... Can't be they just miss their 'Super Sunday' now do they?
no, the reason is simply theres no difference. if you don't win it then 2nd or 3rd...who cares and who's gonna remember. 3rd would be progress, and great after the first half of the season we had. i also think the fact we have a chance of winning the fa cup is also clouding it, as when you have that to look forward to are you really gonna care if you finish 2nd or 3rd in the league? all that matters is we don't finish 4th, as finishing below utd would be gutting as we've been much better then them in terms of performance even if not for points. also means qualifying again for CL.
on the other hand like city if finishing as high in the table was the only target left then I'm sure we'd be fighting for that and would be a lot more bothered (I'm not having a dig by the way).
There is a vast difference in finishing 2nd as opposed to 3rd. Ok no one will remember in relation to who finished below 1st but to the clubs the monies first coming from the PL are the odd £000 more but in relation to the CL monies it's a fair chunk more.
For me the question is who has developed from last season . Without doubt Chelsea and probably Utd have kicked on whereas we probably won't differ in our opinions a year on with regard to City and indeed Liverpool but the real strange one is Arsenal.
To listen to Wenger he thinks they have improved to listen to a section of their supporters they agree with his assessment but have they really?
We hear about how clubs approach them and in truth they are so predictable that it makes you laugh.
Last night just about everything goes through the middle or on the occasions when they get wide they more often than not cut inside where the opposition strength is
Sanchez has been a plus without doubt but two years in Ozil looks far too lightweight and only does it in flashes. Walcott isn't going to get any better and Welbeck is, well playing as he always has.
After 3 or so games we were told that Chambers was the real deal yet I doubt any of the clubs in the PL would even offer A half of what they paid Southampton for what was a reserve player.
Osppiña isn't the real deal and I though Nevilles assessment of Swanseas goal was spot on
I said earlier in this thread about pressure games and indeed Wenger for me yesterday was typical Arsenal in their approach to such a game they clearly paid little attention to Swansea and they came up short.Again.
So Arsenal will in all likelihood finish with less points than last season they will face far more of a challenge at Wembley from Villa than they did from Hull so back to my question have they really improved from last season or is it all an illusion?
