Arsenal are benefitting from the world cup being slap bang in the middle of the season, its a freak season and the fact they are top is an anomaly.

Correct. I've been trying to explain this to the numpties who can't understand why we can't play an endless stream of matches at 100mph twice a week. That's exactly why Liverpool are having a bad season and in some ways we're lucky we're still in contention for 3 trophies.

And we get our rhythm playing two games a week, so being in three competitions is really beneficial to us

Pros and cons. Obviously would have been good having fewer games to play. But results like this create doubt. They looked nervous. Is only going to get worse for them with only the prem to focus on. There’ll be absolutely no escape from it.
