Amazing all this praise for the so called defensive masterclass from those twats yesterday.Wrighty should focus on the 10 cowards in Red on the pitch.

Not long after the take over, Mancini took City to the Arse and got a draw with a real defensive masterclass and got called out for not attacking with his 'expensive' team.

Shithouse press in the UK.
I’ll give them some praise, still defended very well that second half, and if it was us I’d be well proud of the players, surely nobody was expecting them to come out and play as if they still had 11 on the pitch as we would have definitely won,but what makes me angry is the deliberate fake injuries, wasting time ( yes all teams do it ) but they took it to another level and the general breaking of our momentum by any means it’s actually become a theme in their game now even when they have 11 on the pitch. It only gets you so far and the thought of every game getting a result by this means and ending up as champions would for me leave a sour taste in the mouth, yes it’s getting the job done but does anyone really want to win anything like that, bordering on anti football for me what we seen from Arsenal yesterday but each to their own ..

Wrighty sticking his oar in about Haaland bouncing the ball off Gabriel’s head, he would be better off employed calling out Arsenal’s cheating.

I am also surprised that the shear force of the throw didn’t lead to him collapsing in a heap as his training would require him to do.
Here's a clip of ITV2 personified Ben White kicking a ball at Odegaards head with the same amount of force after they scored - apparently this is banter tho

The lot of them need to get over themselves - coming across as emotionally disregulated

Was disappointed in our prep. We knew what was coming. On their first corner we had Doku marking Gabriel. WTF? Our set piece coach is clearly a moron
Even more bizarrely, was Doku actually went to mark him for the goal, and Walker swapped with him at the last minute, almost in desperation.

Poor from us to not have looked to double up on Gabriel with Haaland and Dias/Akanji, as they don't really have a huge threat elsewhere.

My point was not that a good defensive display does not warrant praise but to illustrate how differently it was reported when we did it. Our performance under Mancini was pure grit and determination ( and no orchestrated injury breaks) but we got slagged off for it.

Wonder if Rodri was the guy meant to mark Gabriel. It’d make sense that we weren’t as prepared as we normally are.

Agree with this a lot. They were always going to go defensive after going down to 10 men and it’s up to us to break them down. I said as much while watching it in a bar on the Algarve as the 2nd half drew to a close - that Arsenal had defended really well. However, on reflection I think they were too negative in that 2nd half. They never really had an outlet to relieve the pressure, and if they’d kept just one player further forward most of the time then it would’ve given our defenders something to think about. Funnily enough, after we equalised and the game ended I got speaking to a Leeds fan in there. I brought up the home game against Leeds in 2020-21 when they went down to 10 men at around the same point in the game as Arsenal did yesterday. Leeds proceeded to weather a storm in the second half but Bielsa being Bielsa he didn’t always play a back 10 and as such they were able to break on us at the end as we were pushing forward and grabbed an unlikely but canny winning goal. Arsenal could’ve done something similar yesterday and if they had they may even have come away with a 3-1 win rather than a 2-2 draw but in the end they got exactly what they deserved due to being so negative throughout the 2nd half.
