Arsenal Thread | 2024/25

Firstly we won the Cup Winners Cup and secondly there's a strong argument to be said that the Arsenal side that remained unbeaten and had players like Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, Cole, Campbell etc in it was a superior team to the current City team.

But we'll never find out. But for sure neither City nor Arsenal will have a side that's better than the peak Pep Barcelona side with Messi, Xavi and Iniesta etc.
You have a crystal ball. Any other prophesies? Arteta to play within the spirit of the rules? Arsenal directors to show a little bit of good grace? Arsenal supporters to accept a correct decision?
Keep setting these targets for City to achieve and we'll go for them. After all, we'll never win the premier league, we'll never go into a derby games favourite, we need to defend the title to be a great team, we haven't achieved a double, treble ..............

There may be a strong argument to your band of blud brothers but no one else. Both City’s centurions and the current team are way ahead of the unbeaten team, no argument it was a great team but nowhere near the 2 I mentioned.

Centurions, Treble Winners, 5 trophies in a single season, 4 league titles on the bounce...I could go on.

There's no more debates. What we have achieved under Pep will never get done again in my opinion.

tbf the arguement he was only a yard over the half way line so far away from goal shouldn't matter, if it did then offsides there shouldn't count either logically as there is still ground to cover before scoring.

Agreed. Bottom line is, he had a clear run on goal. Saliba wasn't going to catch him, White was too far over on the right and Raya was backpedalling, so he wasn't even trying to get to the ball before Evanilson. No other Arsenal player in the same postcode.

Saliba would have caught him TBF but regardless the rules are if a player is clear on goal and brought down it's a red, end of. So the decision was correct even if it had been Usain Bolt that had brought him down.

No chance. If that was the case, why did he pull him back? He was away.
Saliba is lightning quick but regardless he pulled him back because his brain wasn't engaged. It was a stupid thing to do after an equally stupid pass from Trossard.

The whole team must have been smoking crack before kick off. Even 11 v 11 we didn't look the better side.
