Arsenal Thread | 2025/26

Granted every club does it, the Donnarumma one wasn't exactly subtle though which didn't help.
I agree every club does it, it's pretty obvious for all involved. Just weird that the one time City make it obvious, there's a lot of media interest, complaining from manager, talk over rule changes, etc.

Remember the outrage of Donnarumma going down to facilitate a "tactical timeout" for City against Leeds (was it?).

Here's a clip showing Arteta gesturing for Gabriel to go down for treatment, so he can do his subs.

The two horrible cheating bastards... Letter writing, cheating Arse anal tactics, they know what are they dooing... Purposely injuring the best oposition players ( Rodri, Khusanov... Yesterday they hunting down midfielder Onana... Then elbowing the goalkeepers neck and hands by first goal they scored... And that ugly **** merino ( he grinded Onana's foot) not beeing sent off for permanent dirty fouling... Fuck off Tarquins !

How is that not given as a foul?
Because it is a carefully curated image. In real time it wasn't a foul.

Merino should have been sent off but so should Dias against Forest. Merino wasn't sent off, neither was Dias, these things tend to even out over a season.

BTW I know full well there will be some folk going 'fuck off should Dias have been sent off' - ref watch already said he should have been red carded so I'm not arguing on it, just pointing out what referees are saying. Just as I am sure they will say Merino is a lucky boy. I'm not here to cause an argument on this other to say that we aren't the only lucky team in this regard and fans tend to remember stuff that goes against them and forget the stuff that goes in their favour!

Ref Watch can fuck off. The Dias second foul was just an accidental coming together, and if anything, more the forest player looking to initiate the contact. There are probably more than a handful of similar incidents every game week that don't get a second look, let alone forensically analysed.

As for their second goal, here's the video. How many similar goals have you seen chalked off?

Great result. And they were excellent second half.
But we‘ve been here before - the 5-1 win against us last season was dressed up as a ‚statement‘ win in the title race, but it didn‘t stop them falling away awfully.
A really good 3 points. But not sure it‘s any great marker of what‘s to come.

Really? I dont see how anyone could have tried to push that, even the deluded surely?. It was feb and they were 7 points off top after that game. The title talk from what I remember was it Liverpools in waiting. Anyway, the table position for them is vastly different now than it was then, dont think using 7 points off top at gameweek 24 is an accurate comparison. I still think city will catch them though.

They were doing a job first half and arsenal were shitting themselves, then Martinez handed them a soft goal off a corner and the pressure was off. After that we had to sit and watch them roll over whilst we heard the commentators (and talksport now) go on about how this is, and I quote "a statement" victory

Keep the pressure on. Nothing to worry about not even close. We'll twat sunderland then they will shit their kecks until they get lucky again. We need to make sure this happens every week until the end of the season. They will bottle it long before then if we do. The fact they're getting so excited about this, only half way through the season, gives the game away a bit

On the bright side the 115 and "peps about to leave" stories might go quiet for a day or 2 whilst we hear about arsenals "statement victory" for the foreseeable. Nothing to see here we go about doing our business as we always do come the business end of the season
Beating a really good Villa side 4-1 is a statement however you slice it. They can have their credit for it.
Up to us to make sure it's an irrelevant result by the end of the season.

Like the picture you shared the other week of Doku at Anfield……

Bollox again...Dias was an unintentional crossing of paths, Merino was a cynical pull back
