Arsenal v City post match thread

Good result against an Arsenal team who had to win to stay in the title race. A draw is never a bad result away at one of the top 4.

Don't get the flapping when it comes to Liverpool. They have a great front three but does their midfield of an ageing Gerrard, Henderson, Allen and Coutinho realy strike fear into you ?

What with their dodgy defence and the way that they struggled past a depleted Sunderland in the last game I don't see why anyone thinks their game against Spurs who are fighting for 4th is a formality either.

Lets put it this way I would take our points total and remaining games over theirs every day of the week.

Sure to be a few twists and turns before the seasons end and we could be seeing this as a hugely valuable point come the end of the season, in much the way Sunderland was in our title winning season.

It's 2 dropped points against an injury hit arsenal side however way you want to dress it up

Posted this in the Pellegrini thread, but who were they really missing? This is confusing the shit out of me. Ozil has been turning in poor performances, Wilshere has had a bad season when fit, and Ramsey's a loss but Rosicky was great. It's just Koscielny, and Vermaelen played fine in his place. Where exactly was this gigantic opportunity that some of you naysayers are seeing?

Four or all of Ozil, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott and Koscielny would have been playing if fit

no excuses really may of got a point but they were missing walcott, ramsey, koscielny, wilshere, ozil thats half a team right there. The team didn't perform and hopefully it isn't costly come the end of the season

I am seeing this as a good point gained. I don't think we were as dominant in the first half or as poor in the second half as has been suggested on this thread and also by the pundits on Sky. It was I thought pretty even throughout. This was only to be expected from a good Arsenal side who have had a disaster of a week and were all busting a gut to get back on track.

If anyone on here had been offered 4 points from the 6 available to City at the start of the week and also thrown in an unexpected loss for Chelsea then they would have taken it in a shot.

I am very suprised at the negativity on the thread and a little alarmed by some of the criticism. Dzeko I thought worked hard and showed up well as he led the line on his own. Yaya, also slated looked neat and tidy. Silva, Clichy, Nasri and Zaba all had good games from what I could see. Vinny and MDM were outstanding at the heart of our defence.

If any players under performed tonight I would plump for Nasri and Ferny; both of them though I forgive in a blink of an eye as they have been immense all season.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that the big news today is that Maureen blew it big style in what was as close to a "banker" as what you are ever likely to get in squeaky bum time.

Over to you now Brendan, lets see how your boys cope with a bit of pressure on.

Well played City.

They drew with Chelsea and probably edged the game without ever looking like winning and easliy accounted for Liverpool.

There isn't much between the four of us and the table shows that but if we are on our game we are the most lethal and hardest to beat.

Its a question of whether we are up for 3 points often enough throughout the season.

I think it will be much the same next season but we will need to strenghten our defense and midfield.

Is Kompany definitely 1 yellow away from a 2 match ban? If so, that's worrying because Southampton are tricky and he'd miss Liverpool if booked.

Yaya and Zabaleta must be close to a suspension too?

Not a great performance, but people bitching about a point at Arsenal need to give their heads a wobble.
This: not even read the rest of the thread, this morning we would have taken a pt and Chelsea losing, we won't lose lose at Anfield but Chelsea will drop pts there and on this kind of weekend don't write Spurs off tomorrow, isn't it just great, we can win the Lge and if we don't we don't have to worry about that lot getting anywhere near it.

They were their for the taking, not a bad point though.

What exactly does that mean. Why were they 'there for the taking'. They are a good team and they played really well in the second half. They have a great home record yet we got a point at the end of a difficult week. Come on….we can do it
