The manager has to actually pick three teams now for the next three games, and consider fitness levels, stamina etc. You can probably play vinny three times as a centre half, but your full backs and attacking players need to be used sparingly. I'll bet he's sat with his staff and a pencil for a long time, and put some major thought into how to challenge each game.

Big challenge for him.

How much competitive football has Lampard played since mid May? I expect his first couple of appearances will be off the bench, first start against sheff wed.

He played in the WC against Costa Rica. Not sure if that qualifies as a competitive match.

Anyway, arse away is almost always a difficult fixture for us. Last time MP was happy to get a draw even though we were really expecting for more given our form. I expect nasri to start but alas I think the boos will get to him again. I think Dzeko and aguero will both start too. This partnership was MP's first choice during second half of last season whenever aguero was fit and I believe MP wants to start that again this season ASAP
