Arteta

Just like we haven't planned for players reaching the end of their shelf life I suspect the same level of myopia to apply around Pep..Manyana rather than forward planning is our mantra.

it's impossible to replace Pep. Both Barca and Bayern have proven that, both a shell of the clubs they were when he was there.

We have planned, whether the young players coming in have lived up to their promise is a different thing.Zaba, Kompany, Silva, Fernandiho, Aguero I assume you mean.
Stones hasn't improved, I thought he would, Laporte has, Rodri too early I think he will be fine, If we don't buy I assume we think Foden or Bernardo will replace Silva, Jesus has waited patiently to replace Aguero, jurys out but he is only 22 two years younger than Aguero when he arrived.
You may not like the planning but it's there for all to see. Same with Pep the club will know if they need to be planning and if they do I'm sure they have targets in mind.

Planning by the big three, Tixi, Soriano and Khaldoon, is meticulous. Swales no longer with us.
Sorry, meant to reply to @nellyonthewing .

well I'm looking at that squad and how we've dropped off in the league and can safely say however meticulous, it hasn't worked. No competent CBs or LBs, no pace down the wings, players out of position, without Kun no striker who can consistently take simple chances and score in successive games, whilst Liverpool got stronger and stronger and even Leicester recruited better than us.

Maybe have less detail and less worrying about £10m and just sign the best players for every position, and play some fucking kids.

Well, can't disagree with you. Plans have gone awry.

we shouldn't be so over-dependent on 2 players, we coped last 2 seasons and we should have had the correct squad depth to cope again this season, that's what they're paid to do.

Losing Zinchenko as well and Aguero two more big misses you cant keep the standards at a high standard if your team keep losing important players thats a fact!!

we did the past 2 seasons, Zinchenko isn't even a left-back. That's the choice we made when we went for players who don't suit us or the league as opposed to strengthening our biggest weaknesses.

You seen our record with Zinchenko at left back? Sorry any team losing the standard of players we have this season would be struggling in midtable its lucky we have good back ups problem is we cant rest them.
