Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Average , is the only description , not one forward player played anywhere near his potential , bringing Mahrez on instead of Alvarez was strange when we needed more energy and aggression , not going to go overboard it was a below par performance we are allowed to have them.
Congrats to Villa for playing out of their skins but where have they been for their last five games ? , fully expect their next game to revert to being shite.

I thought Villa were piss poor and if Gundogan, KDB and Foden had played anywhere near to how they normally play we’d be looking at a 4 or 5-0 win tonight
those 3
what about the other 8 too ?
i'll let haaland off cos he scored
it was a dire performance full stop

They had a very good one in the first half that Watkins should have finished watch it back on motd. We weren’t good enough today and had loads of chance to win. But they did deserve a point
13 shots to 3, all of the ball. They needed to raise their game to get their goal, good players will do that now and then (usually when they play against us), but we were the better team by far. If anyone was going to win that game it was us. I’m not going to argue with the result, but we were overwhelmingly the better team.

Think positive. Days like this will be few & far between for Manchester City this season. Far less than the (small) hunting pack would be my guess.

Not really at the races today, and was gutted to see Alvarez not getting more minutes. Much the better team, but I think Villa can be rightly a bit naffed off Coutinho's goal was chalked off. Still, a point is a point and very early doors. On to next week.
Well summed up, it's really early, and our main challenge will be Liverpool, we have 5 points and 5 goals on them already. We have to perform better in the coming weeks with Arsenal and Spurs coming up. Utd may do us a favour tomorrow as well.

Frustrating to watch and disappointed at the result but we move on.
Yep!
We were the better team throughout and they couldn't live with us at times.
Our passing was just off in the 1st half, but on another day we could've been comfortably 3 nil up at halftime. Once we took the lead, what a ball by Kev! wow!, we could've had more, Haaland had a shot well saved after a lovely move, Kev missed, Kev's freekick hits the bar.
But we started making simple mistakes and if Stones, who up to that was having a brilliant game, headed back to Ederson, their goal wouldn't have happened and we would've had 3 points.
We still could've/should've won after that though.

But i couldn't understand why Alvarez wasn't brought on, that seemed strange especially as Pep's been talking him up all week.

But we didn't lose and we have a busy week coming up, so on we go!

COME ON CITY!!!

If Spurs do us it’s usually a sign we are going to win the league.

They have apparently had an excellent start to the season but are level on points with us.

Still unbeaten a point away from home when admittedly not at our best, remember it's a game played by humans, we are still catching up with fitness for me, I'm sure we will get a better and better.
Big shout out to the away fans loud and proud but please drop the Munich stuff guys.

Well done to the dickhead who got himself thrown out for jumping the hoardings after Haaland scored btw

It’s Fuckin ridiculous. I can’t stand some of our ‘new’ spoilt brat fans
I’m not a ‘new’ fan by any means (I’m an ‘old’ supporter), but yes my expectations have gone up a lot, as the standards at my club have. Doesn’t make me a spoilt brat.

I agree about the criticism of Mahrez based on today is ott, but the more general, ‘you don’t know how lucky you are/back in my day’ stick that some blues use to have a go at others, as soon as they dare criticise players in a really successful side, is overdone and then some.

Wasn’t chalked off the whistle went and everyone stopped , then he hit it
