It’s the Haaland pressing conundrum that I was ridiculed for suggesting he may be benched for certain games. Not sure what Pep is trying to do this season with the crazy system that is leaving us all over the show.
We could have lost against Newcastle, thank fuck we were 0-2 down against Palace at half time and he had to change it.
Not to be deterred,Pep was back again with it today, players all over the show misplaced pass after misplaced pass.
We are dropping points and it is all on him.
Surely he must see what we see.
Then the Subs today,Bernado for Mahrez,a Guy who Bottles out of every 50/50 playing in a physical game.
Alvarez is not a Bench warmer,he is a fucking good player,a match winner.
Disgrace he didn't get on that Pitch.
He starts with that System at home to Spurs we will be 3-0 down in indr 30 minutes.
win the league dont win the league ......I'll still be there week in week out. As alwaysMaybe mate - we all hope so, but its hard to look that far ahead in my opinion and i don't think most of us on here are that fucking entitled to think we'll win the league regardless.
Far too sensible :-)Didn't think we were near it in the first half, we likely would've been if Walker squares the ball to Haaland early but not to be.
Thought the second half up until their goal we should've put them away. Erling does his usual and scores, Kev hits the bar, Haaland has two saved and Villa rode their luck and scored a cracker, sometimes you just have to say fair play to the opposition. They aren't or didn't do anything special just rode their luck and put away their only chance. It happens, that's football.
No time to dwell on it, I thought Alvarez would've given them fits but hopefully he starts against Sevilla and Haaland can have a rest with the Spurs game coming up.
Take the point and move on for me. We'll have a few more games like this during the season so no need to throw the baby out with the bath water.
Am 100% in agreementI am not talking about just this game though. He seems to be going through a poor run of form, for a long time. I have been one of his biggest fans but you have to say it as it is, same with Phil at the moment. And it isn't just me saying it.
Mahrez is part of the core team. So you saying I don't think Mahrez should never get on the pitch is fine to say, but ultimately crazy if you actually expect Pep to carry it out.Bernie and KDB had the RW locked off in the 2nd half. We were in complete control and Villa were never getting back in it. I don’t think Mahrez should be getting on the pitch. However, if that is the move, bring Gundo off and put Bernie in the middle.
He created his own mess a couple of times today though - not that i think he's to blame. When the system isn’t working, Rodri gets exposed.
Not on here mateToo early in the season to be flapping
