Very poor show regardless of missing players. Yes it doesn't help with the quality missing but we have to produce better than that. Villa were superb so no excuses. Anything can happen going forward but I do feel with our best players fit we should look to retain the CL imo as much as I would like a 4th straight PL title.

Better to be spanked now than in April. The team was always going to struggle losing Gundo and Mahrez on the back of the treble, then lose De Bruyne and essentially Stones for long periods. Not sure what we expect from these players, Nunes and Kovacic will need to improve but it can’t be easy settling into the midfield at the moment.

Get Alvarez and Gvardiol out of the team. Lewis looks like what he is - an undersized 19 yo playing against men. Too many small, weak players in this team getting bullied by hardened professionals and lenient refs.

Villa are a very good side, but that doesn't make our performance tonight any less embarassing.

The worst we've played under Pep. We did one good thing in 98 minutes.

Physically and mentally weak. Squad might be the same size as last season, but with a noticeable decline in quality (and hunger).

Walker, Dias, Bernardo letting us down right now.

Taking Foden off was bizarre.

Kovacic and Nunes looking like a cheap backup and a panic buy respectively.

Gvardiol is being badly exposed playing out wide. Play him inside and put Ake on the left.

Time for another tactical tweak, because playing this system is suicidal when we're second to every ball.

Why you guys keep defending Foden??cause he is young and English??he was as bad as everyone else or even worse...he isnt a much better player than he was 4 years ago.

2 shots the whole game. Lewis is so lightweight. The amount of times he was knocked off the ball or gave it away was ridiculous. Nunez was shite. McGinn and Bailey were great for them.

No one had a good game for us, bar Ederson who was decent. Lewis defo needs to gets some muscle on him tho!
