That was depressingly predictable. Villa were good but we were woeful 2nd half.

Too many coasting through games. That 2nd goal, fuck me he ran past the entire midfield.

This needs fixing in at least some incremental way and right now.
We have to be more solid defensively asza base. I'd consider going to a five.

They were fine, not great not shit, would have been fine in a functioning team. Gundo and Walker on the other hand, pathetic. No fight, nonexistent.
Fine ? my word have the standards dropped, Silva in particular was completely invisible, Savinho did more than him in that run for the Foden goal than he did all game.

Staggering. I don’t really think any of us expected 5 in a row, but we are all watching the most incredible, unimaginable drop off. Struggling to get any coherent thoughts down tbh. Hate to see blues lumping on individuals too, these have gone as a unit.

Get some turkey in you Pep and show us the genius you are in the New Year

What I'm baffled about is pep tactically subbing stones off for walker at ht when quite clearly gundo and silva were.poor again and struggling
As much as it saddens me to say it, Gundo has been an absolute disaster of a (re)signing. He should have just left his legacy untouched.

The only thing i look forward to with this slump is the hope that some of the fair weather fuckwits on this forum fuck off.
The fact is we are in a hole and still seem to be digging. I consider myself fairly objective and believe at this stage Pep must be very close to the edge. The Everton game is huge another defeat or bad draw and things might turn terminal. I don't want to see the back of Pep but sometimes things just come to an end. And no, I don't know who would replace him, and whoever does would not match his record. But life's a bitch bedtimes.

yep, not in my wildest dream i could see anything like this happening. This is beyond bad run of form...

There's nothing positive to take from this game.
There's been no improvement from two months ago.
This is really scary.
This, v a Villa side with only 3 wins in their last 11 PL games also.
Toothless up front, just zero goals in the squad bar Haaland who is mostly just a passenger these last few months, the same slow, proved to not work midfield and a defence that’s incapable of looking even remotely of defending.
A mix of not good enough players for a top 6 side let alone a title challenge and great players sadly well past their best.
No idea why he refuses to put some kids in midfield.

We’re creating nothing, our midfield at the moment is two ageing 8s and a 10 but Foden was completely isolated today. First 25 minutes Grealish got a lot of ball, after that and Cash was booked he barely touched the ball. Bernardo offers nothing at all on the right, no threat at all.

Once again the same problems, an ageing midfield with no energy or athleticism or strength. Tielemans, Onana, Rogers, McGinn and Kanara utterly dominated us. Let nothing through and constantly had us under pressure with runs and some great passing. Neither our midfield or defence could tackle Rogers. The fact that is another former City youth player tearing us apart is just adding to the misery.

For the last two summers we’ve desperately needed midfield reinforcements, we’ve added Philips, Kovacic, Nunes and Gundogan and we’re suffering the consequences for really poor recruitment.

No but looking back at history is a good indication of the future, tell me for the Everton game what style of football do u expect, dynamic attacking high pressing game or tippy tappy shit with no real purpose other than making our possession stats look good

We were very poor again. Toothless, frustrated, scared, despondent, old, tired, etc.

I thought Pep would handle things much better in this tough patch but also at other times in the past. He is definitely not infallible which makes his achievements only better imo.

I think there is enough players still uninjured to have a decent side but our tactics and Pep's teamsheets are killing us. At the very least, I don't think there would be much lost be trying something different.

On one hand it'd be exciting to get a new manager due to this same old same old run of relegation form and continously poor decisions but but but... even the best new manager could probably just win us the FACup at this stage so why not just let this contine and see what happens. Maybe Pep and the players will come out stronger in the end.
