I very much doubt that’s the case, in any world other than yours.
However, presuming it were true I would contend that he would also want us to win so that he’d not be humiliated for leaving them to join us.
And, on that basis, if played, that he’ll play his socks off until we get an unassailable lead (say 0-4) and we can then sub him off and put a youngster on (90 minutes in the first game back after a longish injury lay-off could be a bit too much anyhow). :-)
