Aston Villa (H) - Post-Match Thread

Good first half but after they scored, not so reassuring. Akanji the cause of much that uncertainty at the back?
Thought Phil might have seized his chance against a fairly open Villa defence after he came on but no, kept taking the easy option. We really really need a firing Foden…
They could have had 3 in the last 15 minutes…
Great from Jack and Rodri.
I thought the same about Phil, he used to liven games up but now plays very safe

Great 1st half, understandable second half, tried to implement game management, but some sloppy play let them back in. Not overly concerning.

Thinking we will go back to 4-3-3 with ake in to Marshall saka out the game Wednesday.

Nice to have some positive feeling after the last week and let us do the talking on the pitch.

Was he injured when he went off at half time or rested?
Possibly injured in the collision with Martinez. Will be anxiously awaiting news tomorrow.

In my opinion, Rodri would be a bigger miss at the moment. We played for two seasons without a clinical striker, and won two titles. And we scored three goals today, none of them from NMS. Alvarez could certainly be a stop gap for a game or two, if needed.
