I'll be surprised if he does. They've got good enough squad players to swot (swat?) Saints aside easily.I think Dick Van will play tonight

Surely if Ake is fit he plays even if it means 2 Left footers there...My one concern for this game is if Fernandinho starts at centre back.
Warning to everyone travelling - the Man 10k and Half marathon is on in the morning with several roads closed.
Absolute idiocy to have this on the same day as a game.
Definitely for me. Ake and Laporte at centre back and Walker and Cancelo at full back would suit me fine.Surely if Ake is fit he plays even if it means 2 Left footers there...
No worries TH - think from 12 noon some are due to all be re-opened, the MEN has a list of road opening/close times on their site. Thanks for that mate, I was supposed to drive in to town to pick cousin up from the Lowry at lunchtime. No chance doing that.
Won't be shocked it's all over tonight, Champs in all but name.
The issue is you never know what Southampton performance you're going to get. Rumours that Van Dijk and Salah will be rested, along with Robertson still out I believe. That's surely got to take its toll, especially as Liverpool look as if they've been running on empty for weeks.
If they win and it's down to Sunday then we know what we have to do. Even if it's Ake and Laporte at the back, combined with the rest of the XI that's very strong and we are the overwhelming favourites. If we can't beat Villa at home then we don't deserve to win the title. That isn't to underestimate Villa but we're clearly a much better side even with injuries.
