Further to this, similar thoughts in this article by Cathal Dennehy, which starts off about Bol, but opens up to compare athletics to tennis. Think I agree with when is being said here.Thought Coe spoke well there about the future of the sport. He’s absolutely correct when he says the top athletes don’t compete often enough and the ‘peak’ of the season is too brief to be a financially sustainable model. The athletes need to get on board with that, when you compare how often they compete compared to men and women in other sports.
Apparently some of the tickets for these evening sessions cost £20 - in other words, sensible pricing to fill the stadium to a decent level.
