During the world cup he and Van Bomell were under instructions to play that way, get in the oppositions faces and do tough tackles, cant hold that against him for following his managers tactics.

I have now clicked the link and had a look. sorry saw "worldcupblog" and thought it was an old article detailing tackle stats and all that jazz.

Has anyone emailed City/Garry Cook to plead that they take serious action if Nige gets banned? I was thinking of doing one, but if others already have, there's little point. I will be furious if/when this media witch hunt gets Nigel a lengthy ban for an excellent tackle that had an unfortunate outcome.

Gordon Taylor is leaning towards the 'reckless' end of Nige's tackle.
Atkinson will be shown the tackle again from another angle, will be asked if he would have changed his mind and the punishment will be sorted from there.
Nige is looking at a 3 match match ban, at least, and perhaps a fine.

this is utter bollox. why not show every decision in a match to the ref and ask him afterwards who should have won and then change the result if required.
He took the ball cleanly , he didnt have raised feet, the guys injury was unlucky . Injuries like this have gone on for years many of which like this one are just bad luck.

Please tell me this is BS. This would surely be unprecedented, overruling the referee's final decision to appease the frothers?
