" he is good to win freekicks"

I swear I rarely heard this as a big positive skill of any player before we signed Grealish.
who was of the current City players the one who is best at winning freekicks seriously before we signed Grealish? because I bet you rarely made that comment on that player has a great skill aka winning freekicks. is KDB a great free kick winner? Sterling? Mahrez? foden?anyone?

sounds to me to try to find any positive in his game and hang onto it, because he really doesnt add much yet.

surely there will be one game this season that he grabs by neck and wins it for us on his own. he did that at mediocre Villa a lot, at least that something he can do at a lower level for sure. time to do at this level.

KDB pulls other players out of position,we dont get the best out of them when he plays,so i agree with the thinking that we play better as an 11 with Gundogan alongside Rodri, and Bernie pulling the strings. We are more balanced and retain possession better, both hugely important factors against a tenacious team that plays on the break.
There is NO manager in the world that would leave KDB on the bench, unless KDB was injured or being rested or the manager was really really pissed

Expectin an awfull game, loads of cheatin ect ,tryin best to get someone sent off,be a loud crowd, just hope city dont rise too there shit, keep the ball pass it about and just play the game they know,an we will be fine

Agree and I think that Kev shows better form when he plays twice a week.
I don’t get it, it’s only our fans (admittedly a small minority) who want us to drop the best player in the world. Maybe it’s because he takes risk and therefore the odd pass or the odd run doesn’t come off, but that’s the case with all world class creative players. I’d love to see Pep’s reaction if a reporter asked him if he thought Kevin De Bruyne was in his best 11, or not

Whoever so reffing this and var needs to get a grip tonight. When you see some of their antics in the first game it needs to be stamped out. ( No pun intended) Slapping Grealish around the head should have been a red.

Funny how different games can be. Sunday i was looking forward to big time and enjoyed the game. Tonight i really am not looking forward to. Just know i'm going to spend 90 minutes head in hands screaming at the ref and their players to get a grip. Juts hope we keep our heads, control the ball early on and score the first goal. Sounds easy, but we do that and i really think we go through.
It's going to absolutely infuriating if they get a goal first. The playacting is going to make Porto look like a gentlemans club.

I’m not sure about Grealish starting tonight.

In the EFL Cup final a couple of years ago, Fernandinho and Walker spent the entire game shithousing him, and he spent most of his time punching and slapping the floor and moaning at the ref. And he did next to nothing with the ball as we affected his game too much.

I don’t think he’s been here long enough to trust that he won’t get wound up by Atléti and it affect his game tonight. Not from the start anyway.

I’d definitely bring him on though, similar to last week.

Haha same here.
Ferna is the master of little dark art. I will miss him...

Whoever plays it is absolutely essential we keep 11 on the pitch.
Not sure I’d start Grealish with this in mind but I’d definitely bring him on towards the last 20 if we are defending a favourable position as he’s capable of frustrating the crap out of opponents.
