Enjoyed that. Was up on in the 1894 bit on row LL (very big fella with a beard, dark blue top). Thought the chunk of 30 or so of us at the back of the tier had a right good go! Never stopped all game.

Difficult when the rest of the section were obviously non-regular attenders but even so a number were joining in. Would have been ideal with 2,000 singers though.

Wonder what the rest of the ground could hear of us?…

Heard nothing of SSL1 from up where I was, tiers in stadiums really do break up the noise. Imagine our fanbase with a modern equivalent of the Rome Olympic Stadium with no running track!

Usual SSL3 seemed to miss the away fans to battle with, thought they seemed quiet.
Was a great vibe SSL3 today loads of singing mainly the Istanbul stuff etc .
Now then that band before kick off and at half time they were fantastic and they had it rocking outside the ground pre KO aswell………

The songs which got going were all started up there so I thought it worked although it was pretty flat around the rest of the stadium.

I’m a 315 regular, moved to the 1894 rows in 314 today. Everyone there put a shift in for the full 90 mins, good range of songs, it was loud where we were, but it’s a pity it didn’t carry a bit further. The rest of the upper tier seemed a bit more low key than usual but that’s probably to be expected with no away fans.

If it happens again it would be good to see more people move (the apathy of some actually baffles me) and for a big match when the rest of the upper tier are at it.

That game would normally have been a dead atmosphere. It was pretty shit really with little to get the crowd going. As it was it was OK overall but there was never any kind of big roaring going on because the game wasn’t like that. If we’d have had a man sent off or gone 2 down or something it would have been great I think.

It was totally noticeable that the lower tier singing sections couldn’t hear the main noise from above as they did their own thing, often at the same time.

You could hear SS3 in 109. Almost feels like you need to split the 1894 group - have the bulk in SS3 and then some in lower to carry it as you could hear them, but not many wanting to lead below.

Yes a bit flat today, hard to get going, not sure why, maybe everyone is still hungover from last season?

I'm in the lower tier of the South stand and can't hear anything from above, just the design I suppose.

Absolutely baffles me why some people go.
Up and down during the game missing several minutes and then fuck off 10.minutes before time.
I don't get it.

I had to do that today as my Son wasn't his best way out and I didn't want to ruin it for anyone else sat round us (he is 4 mind). We have a few lads on our row who need to lay off the pre match pints as they must be up 3/4 times a game for a piss.

On holiday so wasn't able to go today, but watching on the TV you could hear 109 singing "South stand give us a song..."

Iv been in SS3 since it opened and today
was poor, asked my nipper what he thought and he said the same.

the lads at the back , probably 314-315 have been doing their best for a few years now, trying to get chants going.

To be fair unlike ss1 I don’t think ss3 rely on the away fans. Against Newcastle most of the chanting was nothing to do with the away team or fans. It was mainly the city classics and to get behind the team. I think that’s one of the reasons why it’s so good at getting the rest of the ground to join in

Ss1 at times just seem to be doing their own thing regardless of what’s going on in the match
