I had a large group of kids sat behind me in 326 last night.
Most seemed to be in the "anyone but City" mould and were getting giddy every time Copenhagen were on the attack.
However, some of the girls seemed desperate to see Foden play. Couldn't believe one of them referred to him as "Phil the DILF". The mind boggles!
Given there lack of possession the giddiness must have been scarce. Maybe if tickets were priced accordingly in the first place then we wouldn't have to have thousands of disinterested kids who mainly don't support us at the game. Over the past decade or probably longer the club has managed to disenfranchise / price out many loyal blues to the point that whilst they still follow the team they don't come to games any longer. They are the fans that the club need to reach out to if we want a proper fanbase although unfortunately the club wants the one off match day fan who will pay a fortune for their seat and spend a fortune in the club shop.

I was told by some Copenhagen fans after the game that our support is shit. I said many of our fans don’t see this as a big game. That went down well apart from with one Copenhagen fan who agreed with me.

I complimented their vocal support and said every time I go tot the Etihad it’s a big game for me.

I agree with you that’s the case for weekend Prem games and some Cup matches. Newcastle will capture the imagination I reckon.

We just don’t have the the demand for low profile midweek games to sell out all these games. That might change as more houses and flats are built in the area.

Some of the reasons fans say they are disenfranchised mystify me. The cost of tickets fair enough. However, We are watching the greatest team in our history but some Blues complain about being asked to unzip their coat when going through the turnstiles or being asked their age. We’ve had young fans injured through fans being able to walk into the Etihad with cups full of coins. I see the checks on away fans are more thorough now as they should be.

Alcohol assisted, I sang through most of Wednesday nights game from my seat in 209. There wasn’t a great amount of suooort from the 209 Ultras but I’d had a few more pints than the rest. At one point I had to sing an Akanji song with some Belgiums.

Champions league atmosphere is crap unless it’s a big game.

And that’s because unlike league games it’s probably 50% tourists, as we really aren’t that arsed unless it’s a big European team.

Season tickets holders are the only thing stopping league games from being as bad as European nights, only a matter of time before they kill off season tickets and the ground is full of tourists.

It’s a big yes from me
I agree that there should be safe standing in ss3, however I think this kind of takes the spotlight away from the north stand expansion. We should be pressuring the club to make the majority of north stand level 2 safe standing. There should be articles about that in my opinion.

Well City v Liverpool was a poor atmosphere and that was a big league game

Ask the Real Madrid players what the atmosphere can be like at the Etihad for a CL match.

The club care about money over atmosphere, that should be clear by now.

It certainly can be. Many Scottish football fans follow English clubs. Sadly it’s more down to religion and politics rather than anything else. Or it used to be. Scottish Catholics tend to support United and Liverpool. Scottish Protestants tend to support Chelsea and City. They used to back in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Hence the chant, Rangers, Celtic, Rangers, Celtic…. on the Kippax. Now it’s probably more down to (social) media exposure.

Oh I know, definitely been a bigger rise in Celtic City fans from my own experience when going to glasgow to watch Rangers

At least most of the tourists stay til the end. Swings and roundabouts
