Atmosphere - 2023/24

What’s noticeable is the amount of young lads in their late teens and early twenties in SSL1. As we all know as we’ve been there, at that age you want to constantly sing and support the team in-between a few beers and a sniff.

The Geordies in SSL1 we’re pretty subdued. Quiet for most of the match, looking around at the singing City fans, and getting battered vocally by the East stand corner and SSL1. It really is a bear pit in the SSL1 away block.

Im in SS3 this season. I was SS2 then East stand then CB stand. Loved the atmosphere in L3 on sat. But one thing I noticed is you can't tell who else is singing whilst ur up there unless the whole stadium is up and singing. Whilst in East and CB you can see how disjointed the the singing can become. With stands singing at diff times. Thats where it feels sometimes that atmosphere is flat, where in fact certain parts of the ground you won't feel that as they could be singing all game. Our sections are too separate. Hopefully the NS will change that. Our atmosphere matches any in the world, its a shame the design of stands sometimes makes it not as loud as it really is.

The funny thing is that the signing which starts in SSL3 is the best for travelling around the stadium because it sounds the loudest from the other stands facing it. They also seem to sing the right songs more often.

My first time in a few seasons in L3 and i loved it. Atmosphere was great. I had a great seat and view last season in CB3 but really enjoyed sat and looking 4ward to rest of the season.

South Level 3 was bouncing again, has been for a good 12/18 months now, obviously there will be games where its a bit flatter but all in all our atmosphere particularly up there compares to (and beats in my opinion) any other home atmospheres in the country

Had the choice of a great seat in the Colin Bell stand but prefer it in SSL3 so went there instead. I love it up there. Good view and predominately full of your working class support. It's no coincidence the atmosphere is better there than most of the ground.
