Atmosphere - 2023/24

It wasn't great but when you're stretched across one tier it's much harder for the noise to travel. It was like Wolves-lite
I was going to post the same thing. Thin strips of stands are always hard to get an atmosphere going. One side can’t hear what the other is singing.

Sheff Utd and Wolves away are the worst two for it.

Another bad one for it is Level 1 of the Etihad. A very small first tier for a medium sized stadium. You often get 115 belting out a song and then 119 singing something else at the same time because they can’t hear 115 due to being part of the same thin strip of stand.

Big deep tiers are what create the best atmospheres. Stands that are just one tier are the very best.

it was good but as others have said its not the best to get noise going. Thought Sheffield fans were pretty good
Both sets of Sheffs are proper good fans.

In the top five best away atmospheres at the Etihad in the PL + domestic Cups, both Sheffield clubs feature for me.

People say the European fans and Ultras atmospheres are contrived, orchestrated, fake, annoying, and they don't t like it, especially the use of a drum. i get that and accept it. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Harry Kane.

'The atmosphere in Bremen was incredible, very different from England and the Premier League,' said Kane, two weeks after his £85m switch from Tottenham. 'It was a league game, but it felt like a big European night, like a Champions League game.

'What was really impressive was the atmosphere. I have to adapt to it.'

After being asked how different the experience was compared to a typical Premier League game, he said: "It was great to be honest.
"The fans from both sides were incredible the whole game... really different to some of the Premier League atmospheres I've experienced. Our away fans were amazing but credit to their fans as well. They were great."
Well he would say that wouldn’t he

Thought our end was poor in general yesterday compared to our ends last season but as others have said it’s difficult to get it going when one side is singing one song and the other another. Still a fuckin buzz when Rodri bagged though
It’s exactly what you want an away end to be like when you’re a home club: shit view pitchside behind the goal, thin strip of a stand, hard to get an atmosphere going.

Shit for the away fans, but you want to make it hard for away fans to be noisy at your own ground.

What's the new song about the Rags? To the tune of Ring of Fire - only words I can make out are Old Trafford is falling down and Ten Hag's a clown.
