Atmosphere - 2023/24

1st half 8.5/10
2nd half 5.5/10

At times the whole stadium was singing which is great but as usual they were singing 2 or 3 different songs simultaneously which isn’t. Regardless, there are so many people joining in now all around the ground that when we sort the new end out the noise in the whole ground will be phenomenal.

The new send will act as a focal point for occasional singers to get their cue from and the better acoustics in there will ensure that everyone who’s singing will be singing the same song at the same time and it’ll be absolutely brilliant.

You think that was a good atmosphere fuck me , do yourself a favour and watch the YouTube video of when we beat them 1 nil wanchope header, all you can hear is blue moon belting around the game in a match where it was basically 2 mid table teams, looking back we were so much better than now, the treble winner deserve more.
 
without scoring the second goal was always going to be a tense watch, especially as we all expected the team to run out of steam the longer the game went on. They’ll be fucked when the Champions League kicks off

You’re comparing apples and oranges pal. Football’s changed and to a significant extent so have the people attending.

It wasn't the best, around the 70 min mark we were quite as fuck
 
Superb first half especially considering it didn't have the feel of a big game despite tv's desperation to turn it into one. Too early into thr season and newcastle yet to prove themselves as genuine threat to be considering a real big game. Second half was good in moments. Quiet in others but that was just how the game was. Their fans were thr same, game was tense without much really happening, always going to be a quieter atmosphere under those circumstances. We've had better but can't complain overall.
 
As others have said atmosphere first half was really good. Perhaps one benefit of the 8pm kick off?!

Wasn't great from about 70 minutes onwards but by then the game had unnecessarily become quite end to end and we lacked the control we'd had prior. Think a number of us were worried that we hadn't killed the game off by that point and it might bite us in the arse.

Great 3 points and happy enough with the atmosphere. Too much doom and gloom about.
