Atmosphere 2024/25

Oh do fuck off. You’re so easily convinced that our atmosphere is significantly better or worse than anywhere else. Most of our season ticket holders have been supporting City since the days of Frank fucking Clark. We’re all 30 years older and don’t chant and jump around for 90 minutes like before. Sorry about that. All the football I watch doesn’t appear to have these features either. I tend see a bunch of people similar age to me behaving, er similarly.

How about we all step aside for these young people with cash to spare and desperate to get to a game intent on creating an “atmosphere” that might satisfy Michael Owen? Oh wait, if they do exist it’ll be a half and half scarf and staring at their phones.

You are the equivalent of the social media influenced teenage girl desperate to apply every filter to the selfie because one half wit jealous troll said you had a big nose.

The paradise that Michael Owen is jibing about doesn’t exist in England. Every club can get up for the big game. Do you reckon the atmosphere for Arsenal v Ipswich Town was amazing tonight? Put us to shame did it?
Post of the week. Hats off to you BBB

An atmosphere requires an amount of jeopardy. Until recently most games we swat teams aside so it is flat and sterile.

The best atmospheres recently were Madrid in CL semi final, Arsenal in the league last season when we knew they would bottle it, and the murderers when they were running us down
1-0 lead at home to United with 10 minutes to go a couple of weeks ago and you could hear a pin drop in the ground . Not sure how much more jeopardy you need.

Move all the 'singers' from 110/111 up to the better seats in SSL3 to join up with the lads up there.

The acoustics and views are much better than in the shit, wet seats which is where the away fans should be.

SSL3/2 & NS should be exclusively City ends.....2 concentrated City ends are better than having singers split up in 3 or 4 different areas.

Only saw a bit of the Arsenal v Ipswich game tonight, as it was boring as hell.
But, it reminded me of a typical City match this season.
A very slow, methodical build up, with little risk or jeopardy with the passing.
But, the atmosphere, for an evening game at Christmas, was very disappointing.
Just don't think any of the Top 6 teams have a loud, boisterous atmosphere any more...
I tuned in for a while too but that drum made it unwatchable for me. Was the same a few weeks ago when I tried to watch a Bournemouth game (not vs City). Banning drums one of the few positive moves by the club to improve my “match day experience”.

City fans are to blame for the lack of atmosphere NOT tourists. WE need to own this problem not pass on blame ffs

Can't agree with that.
When you can't get tickets to be with your mates, you have half n half scarfs sat around you. They bring no atmosphere in fact on one occasion I was asked to stop singing ' we never win at home' because it had fuck in it, the parent didn't want her son hearing it. This was in the top level SS for fuck sake lol

They probably expect a fully working transport system and leave their hotel too late.

TfGM are putting together a buesiness plan that would extent Metrolink from Didsbury to Stockport at a possible cost of £1bill.

Yet, they run a tram network that can’t run more and bigger capacity trams on a match day, than it currently does.

On the plus side, the Metrolink from Stockport should be full on match days. :-)

It's always been the same at every club. Only obvious now because of all-seat stadia.

In the early 60s, the exit gates opened 15-20 minutes from the end at Maine Road, and people were already waiting to get out.
When we were nippers, that was when we (about 30 or 40 kids on average) used to bunk in for free.

It wasn't to the same extent though in the 80s. A chant of "part time supporters" used to go up from the Kippax to the Platt Lane when people there started leaving. It's harder to leave a crowded standing area ,as well, and in the middle of the Kippax it wasn't readily apparent that lots were leaving from the Kippax, although some would had been from near the exits.

It's like a critical mass has been reached now where people think if you can't beat them, join them.
