Atmosphere 2024/25

Mmm all very tenuous arguments IMO (why would more people go in Legends?) and a lot of disruption just to make the away fans louder, more coordinated and much more prominent on the TV. Anyway I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree, as it won’t happen, so we’ll never know……
1) More will go in Legends cos the club will be able to sell more of those seats as Corporate.

2) Very little disruption or cost and no compromise of segregation, safety, sight lines or coach park logistics.

3) City fans can't be seen at Leicester or Palace but can make a fucking racket.

4) Faces on tv dont make a noise.
It’s like Chinese water torture. I had to block him.
.

Already been mentioned.

A bit more detail.

Move the away fans from SSL3. Safe standing seats are already installed and waiting for City fans. Make those 1000+ safe standing seats a singing section.

Brighton.

They will have both ends of the ground full of Brighton fans

In 2027, away supporters will also be relocated to the south-west corner of the Amex.

The shift will create a new area for home fans directly behind the goal at the south stand of the stadium.
Good for them.
Two Ends.
Improved atmosphere.
Better matchday experience.
Sense of good will.

Marginal gains.

If Brighton recognise the value, why dont City ?

Just home - brilliant support all 90mins. So proud of my fellow Blues today - even the three Chinese tourists next to me (yes, how did they get tickets, etc, etc) asked the words for 'follow you everywhere' at half time and did their best (struggled a little with the 'wooh hooo' bit)...and lovely to see the boys spend a good 10 mins at the end applauding the fans and most giving their shirts...this is why I fucking love this club.

I think the very cheap tickets had more to do with the atmosphere that night than the acoustics.
The fiver tickets, which sold out in a day, meant that vocal, working class fans were spread around the stadium including all stands and the upper tiers. And the game went perfectly for atmosphere with City actively chasing the game. And it was our biggest game for years. That game actually proves the point that we need a single singing end under a roof.

Fuck all to do with roofs if everyone makes the effort. Plenty of grounds around the world without a roof that provide immense atmospheres. I’ve been to the etihad numerous times when we’ve created a fantastic atmosphere. We just don’t do it as a collective week in week out. This clip of boca versus river plate is immense and not a single roof ever built. It’s about effort and everyone joining in and making the atmosphere what it is.

Can you imagine what that would sound like under a roof ?

We had a couple of beers after the match in Leicester City centre.
Talking to a few Leicester fans, all they spoke about was our fans saying we were easily the best away fans to visit this season.
Said we seem to have a lot of songs, and the "Is this the Etihad" made them laugh.
Although the chant was having a go at them it was also taking the piss of our own home support, said our humours different and they liked it.

I was fortunate to go yesterday.

Still recovering.

I’m not being horrible, and I don’t want to offend, but it was great seeing no or hardly any Barcelona shirts, tourists, day trippers, half and half scarfs in the City away end at Leicester yesterday, just legacy, bread and butter fans, who had made the away trip.

The club know that kind of away support makes all the difference to the team and to Pep.(see the video of Pep orchestrating his chant after full-time)

I sincerely hope the club takes notice of our away support yesterday (the directors would have been at the match), and for the future big away games, this and in future seasons at United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, the club distributes more away tickets to legacy fans. Please!

I don’t really need to add anything about our fantastic away support yesterday that hasn’t already been said or posted on BM, but I will. :-) Bar a slight lull for 20 minutes while Leicester were on top in the 2nd half, it was pretty much non stop and loud singing, with a large variety of chants, from City fans. My favourite chant being, “your going down with United!”(I laughed)

It was also great to be part of the Poznan again, something that is unique to City fans in the PL and in English football, which is always looked upon with envy by home fans.(I wish our fans would do the Poznan)

Anyway, that’s me off the beer until New Years Eve.

Some of our current home fans don't know what the Poznan is. Maybe they should put it in a brochure with a song lyric list like they did in New York
