There are some grounds that are bouncing most weeks and it can greatly help their team. It is something that City miss out on as they don’t have that intimidating stadium / Vocal support.I never get too consumed with whether it’s a good atmosphere or not - go to most grounds and they’re dead in my opinion
Haaland has brought the tourists in and has changed the equilibrium.I thought the atmosphere was great in the August to Christmas period in the Centurions season. And again in the title run-in in the Fourmidables season.
It was dead immediately after Covid but picked right up and was the best it’s ever been at the Etihad/CoMS in the 2021-22 title run-in and the 2022-23 season.
However, the attendees were noticeably different in the Bayern quarter final (remember the shit of Rodri knee-sliding in front of the CBL1 and it being loads of people stood still with no emotion filming him?) and especially Madrid semifinal (same corner when Bernardo scored, SSL1 was going wild, but CBL1 was going mild?!) when going for that 2023 treble.
Since then it’s been tourists central. City have misssvely upped the percentage of tickets they put on the worldwide ticket tout sites.
Now, it feels like the club have completely brow beaten us into submission to being dismayed and disillusioned with it all. It’s not the same and I worry it’s never coming back.
Like I’ve said previously this evening, we aren’t as good as we were and people need to lower their expectations of this much lower standard team, young players, inexperienced players and new signings… we aren’t the team of Kun Agüero, David Silva and prime De Bruyne anymore… and people need to get behind the lads accordingly.
But the club is massively to blame as well!
I really couldn’t agree more with this. We have one last chance FOREVER to put this right. We have a gift horse: a brand new single tier stand with a low roof. Unless we as fans take this opportunity then things will continue to deteriorate. Today was really bad.Blues around the ground need a strong singing section to join in with, otherwise there's no chance of any unison whatsoever.
This north stand extension really is that golden opportunity that any other fan group in the world would be salivating at. But half of our fanbase seem to have written it off already.
Forget what the club want, it's up to US to make NSL2 OUR end!
FFS. Best will in the world mate. Book an appointment at the doctors you daft ****.Haaland has brought the tourists in and has changed the equilibrium.
Very true, but it didn't have the feel of an important game. Walking up to the ground I got the impression fans were doing it out of habit rather than in anticipation.Just when I think it's been the worst it can possibility be, it gets worse.
I don't think it's been as bad as that ever before.
Even the Brighton fans resorted to signing to themselves.
No excuses either as it was Saturday 3 o'clock kick off in an important game.
Could have watched it on tv and it would have been the same.

It's only these last few months where I've seen the physical size of the stand that it's hit me, it really is a DREAM home end that many sets of fans in the world would die for.I really couldn’t agree more with this. It’s been debated on here many times, but as things stand, the club won’t give any details or guarantees that it wouldn’t be a move worth making, so why would anyone trust them? At the minute they get everything so wrong when it comes to the traditional fanbase, so why would I want to leave my reasonably priced seat, beside Blues I’ve sat with for years now in a decent part of the ground for atmosphere, to an end I know nothing about with a hotel in it? That alone is a huge red flag to me and tells me a lot about the clubs priorities. With no new season tickets, am I going to be surrounded by “non-City fans”? Not to mention the club will want a return on their money, and are likely to charge accordingly.Maybe if the give me a reason to believe I’ll reconsider before it opens.Blues around the ground need a strong singing section to join in with, otherwise there's no chance of any unison whatsoever.

Let’s be honest, it’s not just that - it’s everything. People are disillusioned with the club as well for how they’re treating us. Fans have been priced out. Some empty seats could be filled if there was reasonable pricing. There’s a comedown, watching the first average team for many a year and there are some fickle fans amongst us, not to mention that three quarters of the ground barely ever sings let alone on a day like today. The atmosphere is dead because our fans are battle weary from the 115. The club have left us to bear the brunt of it for nearly 2 years without respite. Look back at the pre-treble years and the place was bouncing. If we win the case the club have to acknowledge what the fans have been through and the loyalty they've shown.
You just know this isn’t going to happen though. South stand is where they want the peasants and away fans. SS3 was thrown up and doesn’t even have enough places to rest your pint. This new stand will be completely state of the art. The best facilities. They absolutely won’t want a load of pissheads in there. That stand is being built for £60-75 day trippers with maybe a bit for existing ST holders. Nothing will change. It’s pie in the sky to think it will. It's only these last few months where I've seen the physical size of the stand that it's hit me, it really is a DREAM home end that many sets of fans in the world would die for.
How stupid we'd have to be to not make it our own!
Anyone who's satisfied with SSL1 as our 'singing section' needs their head shaking cause it's pathetic

I know we’ve discussed it before but if you sat down and put together a plan to kill the atmosphere in a stadium then you’d come up with pretty much the situation we have now. 3 separate singing areas, each one not connected to the other. Away fans right in the middle of the three of them. A high roof funnelling the noise away. It couldn’t be worse. It's only these last few months where I've seen the physical size of the stand that it's hit me, it really is a DREAM home end that many sets of fans in the world would die for.

I agree with most the points that both of you raise. I just think this is something where if the fans really want it, then we can make it work, no matter what the club wants. You just know this isn’t going to happen though.
