were you up there ?
only took what, about 100 of you,but spread along to the far end of ss3 in 318.
good on you
I was indeed. I was at the very front of the section, immediately below me was about 25 rows of people sat down mot really joining in so the halted the flow of the songs getting really going around the ground.

However, it was better and probably double the size of the first one against Fulham early last season. Double that again for one next season for a chosen game and you start to increase the noise each time.

Thanks everyone who took part in the 1894 section in the North Stand tonight.

We trialled using a megaphone for 4 or 5 songs in the second half. It felt a bit cringy, but it did seem to help the songs spread a little (compared to the first half).

Would be good to hear if people felt it helped (especially if you’re sat in other parts of the ground). Or if you were even aware of it.

Thanks again for joining mate. It was a good laugh wasn’t it. Better than sitting being quiet IMO.

This bit is the tunnel club now? Club has literally sold the soul of the fans to corporate

That was the most pathetic performance I have ever seen from the rags and their supporters at a Derby. To say a win would have virtually given them the title the GPC played a nine man defence and they didn't manage a single shot on target. Their fans were as silent as the grave, we created one of the Etihads greatest atmosphere ever. One of my all time favourite matches just behind 2011 semi.

The 1894 organised chunk of fans at the back of 314 sang non-stop from 9-47 minutes. Genuinely non-stop. I’ve lost my voice
I'm not sure how much the rest of the ground could hear. It would be interesting to know.

In 314 couldn't hear the away fans or ss1 at all.

The atmosphere in the concourse with everyone chanting shows that it's who you're with (legacies) and where you are (acoustics).

I just don't think the south stand works acoustics wise, and partly with the away fans cutting the sections. The north extension seems to make more sense but then it's moving legacies there, giving us an atmosphere block, hoping the sound spreads.

Also people cave in socially, I was forced to sit because of kids on their phones behind me until the end when theyd all fucked off and the passionate could stand up and sing. This isn't the first time either.

There's a lot to be done and the club need to care.

I was in the south stand and wasn't aware of any megaphone....thank fuck. Each to their own but megaphones and drums aren't for me.
I often wonder what happened to that bloke in the Kippax at Maine Road who's huge voice started the Zigger zagger chant. He definitely didn't need a megaphone you could hear him everywhere lol. He's probably sadly no.longer with us.

Better atmosphere than the last 2 or 3 home games. Wasnt helped by the pathetic away support, didn’t hear a single chant from the Leicester fans. Absolutely useless fans at home and away

It’s why very few sets of away fans make a good atmosphere at the Etihad going back years to the SSL3 expansion - everyone is to split up across different tiers to hear each other in the South Stand, it makes creating an atmosphere very difficult.

We had a right old blast up the top of 314 last night but others are saying they didn’t really hear us. We couldn’t hear SSL1 or the Leicester fans at all, I doubt they could hear us, and we could barely hear 110-111 and people there were saying they couldn’t hear us much either.

NSL2 will be far less split up, with a larger mass of people together to make a bigger voice. But it needs the club and the fans to work closely together to make it work.

It was actually pretty good the megaphone… and I’m probably the person who can’t be doing with drums the most on this forum.

There’s a reason you couldn’t hear the Leicester fans pal

Lovely relaxed atmosphere last night almost like the pressure is off and we are freewheeling not expecting too much.

And it was close to a summer night in as much as I wasn't freezing my bollocks off and enjoyed the walk to the train not feeling like an icicle.

I can give an detached view of the atmosphere.I tranferred my ticket up to the 1894 section but due to my Dad's mobility at the last minute had to change back to be his carer in the Colin Bell Upper.

The place was silent for the first 9 minutes and the singing areas were less than half full. The 1894 migrants could be heard fine and as soon as they came in they started a Blue Moon which went round the ground. At the same time - minute 10 onwards fans were flooding in elsewhere and songs were starting up.

It was obvious pretty quickly that the rest of the south stand werenj't really halping the 1894 lot and it also became obvious that all three singing groups couldn't hear each other. Songs were breaking out all game, often two at once, but not really spreading. This was down to the age old acoustics problem and also the fact that it was a dull game so the rest of the ground didn't fill in the gaps.

It was a superb example of why we need the new end. The impact of thousands of fans flooding into the North stand at once and making a racket would have been immense.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Hope you both enjoyed the game from CBL3 and hope he's doing well.

It was a good laugh in the 1894 block. One of those things where we sang tons of different songs, constantly. If the wider fanbase doesn't join in, there's not much more we can do. You can lead a horse to water.

Were you aware of the megaphone being used at all? We didn't want it to stand out too much, so we used it subtly and infrequently. It seemed like the odd time we did use it, it ramped up the noise. But you can never really tell when you're sat in the middle of it.

Sorry @Manchester33 I’m second tier of East stand & we have quite a few singers round us but I couldn’t hear the megaphone. I like the idea though.
The loudest singing was the Bobb song which was brilliant

I agree, I was thinking warm??? It was fucking freezing, one of the coldest I've been inside the south stand. Mind you there was loads of empty seats so I guess the body warmth wasn't the same and there was no blocking the icy wind blowing through. I only had a T-shirt under my coat and no woolly hat. That's a mistake I won't make again!
