Look - I’ve already told one poster that we haven’t got the time to answer ever single post from every single fan on here and elsewhere.1. The image shown by the poster you replied to of the South Stand lower is accurate. It clearly highlights in purple a small, part of one stand. This is meant to be City`s home end where a lot of the the `atmosphere` group congregate. That is a fact.
2. The new North Stand will be on one huge level with a capacity of approx. 9,500 . These are General Admission (GA) and include a minimum of 3,000 safe standing (more can be added) and approx. only 300 GA+ seats which will probably be occupied by the type of fans who use `Kits`. These are facts.
3. Why do you think that General Admission including safe standing is a mis-mash?
4. The advantages / disadvantages of the South Stand have been clearly set out by other posters. Do you agree with those facts?
5.Why do you think that trying to encourage a few more to relocate to the South Stand, lets say 50 decide to do so, will make a significant difference?
6.Why did 1894 take a premature stance last year to stay in the South Stand when much more will be known during 2026?
By taking up this position, it will naturally weaken the prospects for the North Stand .
7. Re: your last paragraph, the singers currently at the back of the top level of the South Stand may have difficulty getting it going precisely because the stand is split into 3 and the atmosphere group in the lower level are disconnected, can not be seen and can not be heard.
6. It is evident that if the current singers in the top level of the South Stand, those singers in the lower level, and those singers in Kippax corner, all move into the North Stand on ONE level, it will have more chance of being better. This is logical and objective.
I do not who you are or who the `Elders` are in the 1894. I am looking at this based on facts and objective criteria.
This afternoon City`s home end will be 2/3rds full of away fans. They will once again drown out the small lower level.
This will always happen at the South Stand. Away fans will displace home fans !
It would be helpful to try and understand more of your thoughts on this, those views of any other `members` of 1894, and fans generally through this forum.
But seeing as though you asked:
1) If you want to know why 1894 didn’t back the club’s plans for the new stand then I suggest you read the 1894 statement from 26th September 2024 because it’s all in there
2) What makes you think that every single singer will move from SS1, SS3, and Kippax Corner into the new stand? People aren’t going to move if they’re asked or told to, especially as many are happy to stay in the same seats they’ve had for 5,10,15, or even 20 years. Even if 1894 recommended they move, it isn’t happening. In fact, the last time 1894 had a high profile public campaign regarding moving into a new singing section in 114/115, only a dozen or so fans moved out of the official singing section in Kippax Corner.
3) With the above in mind, surely it’s better to have 2 singing ends rather than 1. And in case you missed it, that’s what 1894 and the OSC are trying to achieve. There are enough singers in other areas of the ground who may wish to move there - it doesn’t have to be a mass exodus from the South Stand and Kippax Corner.
4) The new stand is a mish-mash because it doesn’t matter how many GA seats there are - it’s the profile of fan that fills it that matters. Fill it with those who like to sing and create an atmosphere - great. That isn’t happening in a million years though because the club will be selling tickets to anyone and everyone, and no doubt they’ll be selling tickets via one of their 9 third party ticketing partners. 1894 and the OSC have absolutely no control over that. All we can control are the bits that the club lets us have control of. And for the umpteenth time, 1894 and the OSC will be working to try and get as many singers into the safe standing section of NS2. 1894 have also asked the club to at least protect the safe standing seats from being sold via third party ticketing partners.
4) Despite your prediction and despite having the numbers, the Exeter fans didn’t “drown out” the City fans in SS1 today.
5) You keep saying you don’t know who 1894 are, as though we’re some mysterious invisible entity. You even asked the other week “Who are 1894?”. Well apart from the fact that we’re the people who helped get a season ticket price freeze and a match-day ticket price reduction, I find that an utterly bizarre - and dare I say, a quite disturbing - line of questioning. I’m not sure why you personally need to get to know us but in any case, you’ve had over 12 years to find out who we are. We’re on the concourse at the back of 015 every single match day if you want to come over and have a chat. We also had a very visible presence at all the ticket price protests outside the stadium last season so you had ample opportunity to meet up with us.
