Atmosphere yesterday

You're right in that it isn't having an adverse effect mate, but today was pretty poor considering we're on the run in for a title challenge.
Hopefully things will change once the expansion is completed but there's no doubt as it stands, we're pretty quiet.

It has very little effect at all. But I enjoy watching the games and hearing a good atmosphere. Whether that be at City, at away games or just random games that don't involve my club or away from the Prem completely. For me, they're supposed to go hand-in-hand. Football is half the match and half the fans.

A good atmosphere is something that is talked about by everyone. I couldn't name you more than five players in the Argentine league or the standings in the table but I go on YouTube and watch videos of their fans and the atmospheres they create.

One things for sure the Sheikh certainly didn't pick us for our passionate support. We are so lucky to be watching this fantastic team. Like Blue 2112 said the place should be rocking, its such a shame.

The lack of atmosphere may well of cost us in the Champions League where the gulf between the home and away support has been clearest. I make it that we've won half of our CL games.

Our support was fine when he bought us, though. It'd be naive to say the atmosphere has always been great at this stadium (it hasn't), but we're matching the Pearce era right now in this, one of our Golden Ages.

Let's say we played Hamburg tomorrow... would it be like this?

(Hey, where's the deafening music, PA guy, and half-empty stadium with the match not yet kicked off?)

Too many fans either spoilt by success and permanently expectant or priced out and replaced by those who sit on their arse silently and give you funny looks when you try and vocally back the team.

No wonder away day tickets are like gold dust now (well, when they aren't 60-odd quid), it's the only way to really experience proper City support. Much like United.

I'm just suprised no ones posted "I wonder what the players think of our atmosphere"

Who gives a fuck who sits down late, who fucks off early and who claps & sings . . . . It's clearly affected our home form over the last few years hasn't it?

Other threads say that away support is just as quite.

The atmosphere yesterday was awful. I know I will get slated for this, but the atmosphere at the swamp the other night was electric, sounded absolutely brilliant. We may slag them off, take every opportunity to have a go at them, but the fans were right on it the other night. I really don't get why it's changed at city. Even joe hart was trying to get us all singing yesterday when he came out, Nasri did the same. I got the feeling the players felt it yesterday.

Are you sure about that mate?

15 mins reading on here this morning and you would be forgiven for thinking we had lost the last 72!

to my mind 3 things contributed to the lack of atmosphere

not saying any are acceptable by the way

1, the early kick off against this particular opponent hardly whetted the appetite, with usual empty seats here and there??

2, the early goal and then expectant stroll

3 , they controlled midfield possession without going anywhere

thought it picked up well in the second half when we had a lot more of the ball and attacking threat
