atmosphere

The deafening music before the game kills any pre-match atmosphere.

Secondly, it's not just a matter of no standing areas, it's a matter of the type of supporter who doesn't come because there are no standing areas.

Thirdly, an increasing proportion of those who attend are middle-class types who tend to be quiet, like the old Main Stand used to be at Maine Road. At MR that type of supporter was basically down one side - now they occupy huge chunks of the whole ground.

Fourthly - corporate areas. Raise lots of cash admittedly, but add zero to the atmosphere.

I think people who dream of bringing back atmosphere like it was at Maine Road on a good day/night are pissing in the wind. It won't happen, sorry lads.

All I can say is some people are easily pleased...

Or some people find it easy to whinge. It was a great atmosphere, something backed up by today's press reports, but some people are acting as if tumbleweed was blowing over the pitch.

The last couple of recent great atmospheres I remember are hamburg and when we beat chelsea 2-1

Loved the atmos last night. I thought us non season card holders showed you self-righteous moaning season card holders how it's done. Surely our next CL game will be a hot ticket now.
Loved it

well done Napoli fans, I was very impressed

It was alright. But we need more songs tbh, who can blame me for not wanting to join in with the mancini song for the 15th time.

For those who think we can be like aris, you're dreaming.

It was a great attendance last night but i thought the atmosphere was just okay in relation to the occasion. We were lively at first but I thought there was a nervousness amongst the fans and maybe that relayed to the players. I thought the SS were a bit too quiet, I agree with Dave to join our two sections up and move the away fans.
SS Crowd Rating: 7/10.

Perfect summary.

I was surrounded by bourgeois types filming everything on their fucking smartphones and having pictures taken at every opportunity.

Bloke sat next to me said that a good natured loudmouth in our area has been banned for 3 games for swearing because somebody complained. The guy's about 50 ffs, not a bad type at all just the typical noisy wit that you always get in every section who makes the odd funny comment and everyone laughs.

I hate the gentrification of football and there are far too many over made up over dressed women with no evident interest in the game at City these days
