I thought the atmosphere was good last night (in 309).

The one and only point I'll make about the atmosphere and songs is that god awful "Ser-gio, Ser-gio" song. Seriously, it's so shit it's embarrassing. Is it any wonder people are a bit awkward singing and getting behind the team when we have songs that 99% of the ground are embarrassed to sing.

I think it's fair to say, we need some better songs.
I have to aggree, poor song, also aggree the atmosphere up in and around 307/8/9 was fairly good again, it has become a case now where we don't wait for the singing to start down stairs and the fans in this area are more then happy to start. My only dissappointment was the wind blew most of the ticker tape back into the stand, fu@k me it made a mess, bet the cleaner swere chuffed.
I ahve to say as well everyone I went around last night that I handed it out to showed a great interest in doing stuff to improve the match day. The kids loved it. Anyway maybe its time we came up with some ideas for this part of the ground, why can't we have our own large flag to go across the 3 tier???
Anyway top bunch of lads and lassies in this area now keep up the singing, now Everton that should be a cracker.

Erm... excuse me, that's my God awful song. ;-)

The thing is, if it wasn't for that 'God awful song(let's see how many times I can mention that), we still wouldn't have a song for Sergio. :-(

It probably is awful, but at least it's getting sung. The thing is, without 'knobs' like me who are prepared to have ago at starting songs on the terraces, we wouldn't have any songs to sing at all. Some take off, and some don't.

I'm not one to make a point, but we've spent weeks on BM trying to come up with a song for David Silva, and we ended up with, 'There's only one David Silva' on Wednesday night. :-?

So CITY FOR LIFE. I expect you to have a brand new Sergio Agüero song in time for the Everton game. If you can, feel free to join me in block 111, row X, and I'll join in with you, giving 110%, until it takes off.

Oh!

I've come up with a new song for Sergio. It does need finishing though. TBH I don't think it's God awful. Do you?

"When the ball hits the net it's not Torres or 'Shrek' it's Aguero....
"With a pass from Nasri, it's 1, 2, and then 3, it's Aguero....,.
Feel free.........
Not knocking you at all mate, beleive me there should be more people like us that at least try to make things happen, I may have got it wrong but the only words they were singing up in L3 were Sergio , Sergio now if you are saying the song you came up with is the one above top marks mate. Carry on the good mate.

The atmosphere definately has to improve, the only game it is decent is when its a derby game .... agaisnt Wigan, lets not even go to that game, you couldn't hear any singing at all.

What i always notice is for the last 20 minutes of the first half it always goes quiet, but why? why do supporters give up singing their team on after the first 25 minutes have gone

I would say the average City fan is fairly timid. We are introverted in nature. I've been to many pubs where City fans are quiet even when we score. It comes with the territory and history of having our hearts broken so much. Not to say that we don't celebrate and that all fans are quiet but our supporters are generally like that. We need not to ban together and act like Ultras to show our love for the club. My cousin was regrettably one of the hooligans of the late 80's. Those days are gone though, football is an armchair sport in England even if your in the stands.

Timid? Not my experience of the "average city fan"
Quiet when we score??
Regrettably i never met your cousin, he's probably
about 10yrs younger than me
Things were very different then and like you say
Those days are gone.....But timid? Never!

sounded alright last night from my armchair.

I think the atmosphere has been improving year on year as people get settled into their favourite areas of the stadium even the family stand has got louder last night had a big game feel the noise as the champions league anthem finished was really loud

our support is generally great if and when we are winning but usually a bit quiet till then sadly after the first ten minutes or so if it's 0 - 0

or its good in adversity like it was for so many years and that sometimes still resurfaces like when we went behind last night

Whenever people come around my house I always give them the best seats.

The middle of the East stand, well second best then.

Why not be the first English club to offer the best seats to visitors

Only jesting City For Life.

The thing is. Loads of good lyrics/chants on BM, but they never make it to the terraces. Unless you know a group of lads or you're stood with a group of lads who enjoy singing, it's near enough impossible to get a new chant/song going. One person singing a new song on his own either get's ignored or comes across as a......(fill in as appropriate)

I'll admit the Sergio song is s***. It's been done to death throughout the PL and Championship. Even by us.(Bellamy) However, until somebody or a group of lads come up with something better, it will keep on being sung. That goes for Silva and Nasri.(there's only one David Silva and na, na, na. Sami Nasri...)

Few points from a first time observer.

The pre match tannoy is too loud to try and build a decent atmosphere, it's loud and annoying, and so is the guy who doesn't stop talking over it.

City could do with a few more songs, there seems to be four which are repeated over and over. Blue moon gets people going but dies out quickly.

Enjoyed the Balotelli song :) More is required! Where is the songs about Kompany, Yaya, Silva? The songs slagging off United?

It's a fantastic stadium you have and it has so much potential, it could become a fortress for teams to visit. The corner who repeatedly tried to get the crowd going deserve credit, and I hope they build on their repertoire!
