Attendance for Dortmund? Also banners/flares/inflatables?

Fans want to see our team play. There'll be a lot of people gutted not to be there tomorrow night. Watching on the telly doesn't even come close. They just haven't got the cash.

We are in the middle of a recession and the North West has some of the most deprived areas in the country but United still sell out even for "dead" games. This one could be a classic. Hopefully we get close to 45000 otherwise I think it will be disappointing.

think that was wrong last week when they played Newcastle, i think they got 45k which is 30k down, and of course they have 650 billion fans

Wrong! It is completely to do with the cost. People want to watch their team but cant afford it.

If the price was right for tomorrow night, it would be full. We live in the north of england and are in the middle of a recession.

Well we disagree then. If it were just cost why weren't league cup games at £5/£10 a sell out? How are we selling out our league games? Cost is a factor. It's not completely to do with cost at all.

were selling out for league games becuase of season ticket holders, a price that people can afford in the main because they save up most of the year for it. Bit different when you have the added cost of cup games and such

The end of one actually. Q3 saw growth.

maybe there is some growth 0.5%, which isnt actually a lot and probably wont affect the average man on the street. The economy mabye on a knife edge in terms of growth and negative growth but for most people there still in a recession, with bills and such still rising.

So can you please explain why Blue Members don't buy the tickets?

I do not accept that we can't find 44k fans to attend every game from our oh so loyal and large fan base but we have 30k hardcore fans that will generally turn up regardless. The others will turn up if it suits!

£17.50 was more than reasonable for a cup game against Premier League opposition and the main price has to be agreed by both clubs

£30 is more than reasonable for a Champions League game against the German champions. Any cost of CL tickets has to meet UEFA's minimum ticketing policy and has to be agreed between both clubs.

I would love to see Eastlands full and rocking regardless of opposition and tournament, sadly it will never happen.

And some people want to expand the stadium - 28k will look smart in a 60k+ stadium!

Nobody is saying everyone can afford to go.

The facts are we sell out every league game so enough people CAN afford to go to fill the stadium.

So if the CL game does not sell out those same 48,000 people have made a choice that they prefer a league game.. where they can't afford both.

It's nothing to do with a recession as there are obviously plenty of people who can afford it. It's cost for some but for many others it's choice.

Never can understand the logic of some on here who say there is no need for stadium expansion, EVERY league game bar Fulham 18 months ago has sold out hence the need for expansion.

just had an automated text from the club for my regular seat.
"Supporter Number <<Field2>> your seat details for tomorrow are <<Field3>> ". another good service from our technical department.

I pay £490 for my seasoncard and that's enough out of the family budget for me. I'd like to be at the Dortmund game but it'd be £35 plus the cost of parking, then there's the fact i'd be driving home from work then straight back into town for the game. Given the choice of saving £40 and spending the evening with my wife and son watching the game it's a simple choice for me.
If they charge £35 for each game i'lljust pick 1 to go to - and i choose the Madrid game

I've said this before, but feel it needs stating again, inflatables are childish and seeing grown men waving them around is all a little bit sad.

We can't both be sat in field 3. Something has gone wrong.
