There was an empty seat next to me at City recently, usually taken by a lovely older lady.
I spoke to the gentlemen next but one asking where she was, but he explained it was his wife's seat and that she'd recently passed away.
I then enquired as to why he didn't consider passing on her ticket to a family member but he said...
"I did try to let some of the family use her ticket today, but they're all all the funeral!"

My dad was at that game - he reckoned there were over 10k on the concourses and couldn't get onto the stands. He was a rag as well.

The days before public transport lets not forget..
