ATTN All US Based Blues - USA Summer 2010 - City Tour

Nothing beats Chicago in the summertime. Has to be Chicago. Soldier Field, large population of soccer fans, huge market, midwest, and it's a top sports city. Just think of the exposure from all the people on Lake Michigan asking what the crowd at Soldier Field is for.

Totally agree with you. There is no better sporting venue in the country, than Chicago during the summer. Huge crowds of people buzzing all over the city in the summer, very knowledgeable sports town, and tremendous soccer community in the middle of a big soccer area, Milwaukee, Kansas City, St. Louis, and Columbus are all big time soccer communities within just a few hours drive of downtown. Soldier Field is a great venue, and isn't too big where they would have a problem packing in the fans. Somewhere around 65,000 I believe for soccer games, but possibly closer to 60,000. I truly hope they put a game there, it would be an awesome atmosphere.

I would love to know of a way to petition, or contact City, to try and convince them that Chicago is a city they need to play a match in during their U.S. tour.

I really hope at least one game will be played in one of the southern states (Dallas is preferred). All of the main venues mentioned are 17 hours away at a minimum. So...

Dallas
Dallas
NYC
LA
Seattle (would be awesome to watch the blues play in front of the best fans in America).

As I live in Portland I'm crazy extatic and just got yelled at by my wife for waking her up to tell her. Apparently she thinks sleep is more important.

For a fans choice venue I would say LA first at the rose bowl and soldier field in Chicago second. Soldier field only second since LA is closer to me. Selfish I know but what can I say!

As a Brit wanting come over watching City i'm hoping NYC or Chicago.

I have family in Ogden near Salt Lake City, so that would be good also. I think with them winning the MLS last year you can't rule that out either.

Nothing against you NYC fans, but I don't think NY should get one. City is already planning on Philly and Portland (although I think this one should be in Seattle at Qwest Field instead) as two destinations. I don't think one part of the country should get two games. Philly is definitely close enough for the NYC people to make the trip. Let's spread the City games throughout the country. One to the east, one to the west, and one to the midwest.

Philly is four hours away and a dump. If they're not doing it here or in LA it's only down to logistics.

Like I said in a previous thread on this subject. Chicago, Chicago, Chicago. You have Portland on the west coast and Philly/NY on the east. Take Chicago out of the midwest. We lost on the Olympics and aren't even included on the latest World Cup bid so come to Chicago. Summertime in Chicago at Soldier Field=amazingness. Huge football following. I was at the friendly against England in 2005?, great atmosphere, nearly sold out Soldier Field. 60-70,000 easy would watch a friendly with City.

Know the feeling pal, when i suggested maybe Oregon for this years vacation last night, i got some raised eyebrows from 'her indoors' even trying to seel the idea on the back of visitng the 'Twilight' movie locations (she is somewhat obsessed with the whole Twilight series thing!) didnt do it................i am still working on her though!!

Either way and wherever we play, the Georgia based Blue's (At least 2 of us now, as my pal in Savannah is well up for it!) will be there!!
