Autophagy (and fasting).

But a 'General Practitioner' would say that as they don't study for this as an expertise. The have whatever general knowledge they know about.

There are NHS successful trials and specialities in fasting for weight loss and diabetes, so they would be hocus pocus according to that GP!

There are some expert Docs that do 'Ted Talks' and have their own channels on the subject.

We, already, know how the body can survive on next to nothing for a month, so a couple of days is nothing in a controlled setting.
Spot on.

The average GP knows the very basics where diet and nutrition are concerned.Your family Doc is a great resource, but be careful, they aren't the oracle by any stretch......far too many take their word as gospel or simply follow their lead without question.

I thought I'd post this for those who find fasting too difficult.

Bit of logic and a bit of motivation for pitfalls and trying to avoid them...

Always worth listening to (Dr) Mike Israetel (crap Jokes aside) one of the most knowledgeable people out there, and glad he made such a big song and dance about point No8, really is where your fat loss attempts either fail or succeed.

21 pounds down now. And under 16 stone for tye first time in many years. Really enjoying the process and this is the only diet that seems to have worked for me. Just have my tea and that’s it. Feel a bit hungry in the afternoon but so much better than feeling sluggish. I am targeting 90kg and I am six foot with big broad shoulders so think will look ok at that.
It’s definitely the easiest “diet” to follow to restrict calorie intake without fucking about counting them.

Also works well for other health benefits such as the potential to reduce heart disease, decrease blood sugar, and reduce inflammation.

I’ve been doing OMAD for a few years now and once you’re past the first few weeks, it’s very easy to maintain. I’ll have the odd lunch if I’m away on a holiday but that’s about it.

Lovely comments and nice to hear from you my friend.

What does Omad stand for??

The “One Meal a Day” diet, or OMAD diet, claims to help you lose weight by forcing your body to burn fat. It's a type of intermittent fasting, which alternates between periods throughout the day in which you can eat anything and periods in which you don't eat at all.

One meal a day.
Does that not affect you energy?

I do feel if you're squashing your window down a fair bit you could potentially skip a meal.
I had a late lunch and then an early evening meal (lunch at 2, meal at 6) and was still fairly full from the 2pm meal.

Could've feasibly skipped that evening meal, or at least substantially reduced it.

Then again, I'm training and running a lot more now so the balance seems right.
Few pounds to go before I feel I'm at my optimum 'look and feel' (rather than weight, which I barely ever look at).

After this, less calorie intakes and I'll start looking skinny assed....
