Away ends and tourists

4 tourists next to me. City fans?

Didn't join in with any of the chants. And 2 of them quietly celebrated and smiled when Liverpool scored.

Another fan, not in that group, was explaining to a City fan next to me about the scarf he was wearing around his neck, and which club it was.

There where a few half and half scarfs floating about as well.

There was one twat on the concourse before the game with a Liverpool scarf - never even tried to hide it.

Wasn't there today, but the anecdotal evidence on Twitter suggests there's a problem. How are these people getting tickets? What's the point of the "loyalty" system if swathes of tickets are being allocated elsewhere?

It may have been covered but I assume the 'loyal' ones got their tickets and sold them as it was NYE

That said, I've not been away for years so I'm not really in a position to say if it's a 'problem' or not

He would do, wouldn't he.

F*** me! If I got a £1 for every time I've heard that over the years, I'd be well off by now.
Text him back Liverpool's support wasn't that great either, bar the continual chant of "Liverpool, Liverpool......
It's safe to say variety of chants at Anfield doesn't exist.

Spot on. The only variety in chants yesterday from the home team came via the PA system.

Worst away end for years and it looked like the United Nations. Worse still, we had to stand by plastic half and half scarf Liverpool fans who have bought tickets from the 'can't be arsed brigade' because of kick off time on NYE cashing in on their cheap £30 away ticket from their loyalty/seasonal hospitality entitlement. Sponsors are definitely getting tickets as well. I think at least half of the away section had no entitlement to be there on the basis of loyalty, We even got interviewed by the Premier League TV productions because we were the only fans they had seen all day in City shirts 30 mins before kick off - absolutely disgraceful. Anyone who sells on their ticket to these muppets should have their points zeroed. Passports and ticket collection has its plus points!

I was a big supporter of the FSF's twenty's plenty campaign and when it got passed albeit capped at £30.00 I was well pleased, I have since come to the conclusion that it has bit some of us the arse a bit as I think that people who have the points to get away tickets in the opening allocation window who wouldn't of normally bothered at the old prices are now taking advantage of the £30.00 cap and snapping them them up, I'm not suggesting they are selling them on for profit although obviously some will but either way it does mean that those of us with the lower points now have even less chance of getting an away ticket.

One lad had a Bayer Leverkusen scarf and was an American on the concourse

But didn't one of our posters/supporters say a while ago that he was coming over from America over the Christmas period, if I remember correctly he said that he was concerned that both our Christmas matches were away matches. (Please don't ask me to find the post!! My memory is not that good!!)
